    Snapshots – Ch. 5 – Intuition

Shane took off her sunglasses as they watched the sun set in silence. She hadnt expected to feel so comfortable, stretched out on a blanket in the back of her truck. Moments alone together were becoming scarce, given the fact that Carmen had a house full of her family and Shane didnt even have her own room at her place, not to mention three roommates.

After unwinding at the Planet one afternoon, Carmen finally had enough, and as they walked out to the parking lot, she nibbled on Shanes ear to distract her and snatched the keys from her pocket, taking off towards the Toyota. Shane laughed and ran after her, overcoming her just in time to lean hastily against the driver side door with her arms crossed and eyebrows raised in a ye shall not pass glare.

Very funny, miss. Now hand them over.

Awh, come on…I want to take you somewhere. Carmen batted her eyelashes.

Ive had this truck for six years…and she wont run for anyone but me. But the look on Shanes face gave her away. She was itching to know where Carmen wanted to go.

Carmen grinned. Oh, well see about that.

Shanes expression did its best to say no, we wont until Carmen stepped closer, running her hands down Shanes arms and pressing their hips together. Shane had been that close and closer to countless girls, but being that close to Carmen sent a bolt up her spine. She groaned.

    Okonce

Carmen grinned wider and brushed her lips against Shanes, their mouths dancing briefly before Shane chuckled to herself, wondering what in the world she had gotten herself into, and stepped aside, opening the door for Carmen with an exaggerated flourish. Carmen smiled.

    Im honored.

    Shane smirked. You should be.

After Carmen defiantly proved that yes, indeed the truck would run for her, they ended up at a nearby beach. A few pokes and prods had softened Shane up enough to get them where they were now, listening to the waves roll and watching the sky slowly darken. But in truth, Carmen was watching Shane.

She couldnt help it. She knew the girls reputation, shed seen first hand how Shane interacted with other women. She was a player, plain and simple. But watching Shane now was like watching a child who had never seen stars before. She was so focusedso calm, and yet her silence was weighted with thoughts that Carmen was dying to know more about. There was a world of things she wanted to show Shane, just to see her see them for the first time.

    1. nah, the only thing JCS’s story and mine share are the pairing and Carmen’s mom’s name (as I couldn’t imagine her called anything else)…I wouldn’t dream of claiming that I was glimpses into someone else’s work. Though I’m a huge fan of “The Story of Us”

    2. It’s been forever since you posted. I know you probably won’t post again but if one day for the heck of it you decide to come back and read posts, just know that I love this fic. It’s just so touching and so real. I really wish you would finish it. *sigh*
