Peggy: Bette you’ve always been more like a daughter to me than a friend. Tina and Angie complete the family unit and I hope you will let me spoil my grandchild just a little. Thank you for including me in this celebration today. I am so proud of you. I love you dear!

Jackie: Angie you are my best friend and I am very happy that your two mommies are together so that you can feel as lucky as me.

Leigh: You’ve welcomed me back into your lives as only generous and forgiving hearts could. Now we all have another chance to get it right and with Angel watching over us I know we will.

Eventually all the candles are lit and everyone that wants to say something has spoken. Now it’s Kit’s turn. “I’m going to save my speech for later. All I want to say now is that you three are the nearest and dearest to me. I love you with all my heart. I can’t begin to express how joyful I am that you’ve found your way back to each other. My hope is that you never lose your way again.”

Kit lights Bette, Tina and Angie’s candles. Bette picks up Angie and all three walk over to the large unity candle that has been placed on a stand. They each hold their candles and light the larger one. Bette puts Angie down and speaks for the family.

“I speak for Tina, Angie and myself when I say that everyone gathered here today is here because you hold a very special place in our hearts. We thank you for your blessings, your love, your respect, your friendship, and your sincerity. Having you in our lives has been the real blessing. We love and cherish each and every one of you. Thank you for being here with us and for us.”

Kit closes the ceremony with final words on behalf of everyone in attendance. “Bette, Tina and Angie, I speak on behalf of everyone when I say that our presence here bears witness that we collectively sanction, bless and support your union. May this ceremony serve to strengthen the special family bond that you already share. From this day forward may your lives be filled with love, laughter, trust, honesty, support, forgiveness, patience, respect, faithfulness, encouragement, inspiration, loyalty, friendship, truth, kindness; everything that you have promised and vowed to each other. May you be a comfort to one another during the hard times and may you shed more tears of joy than sorrow. You may kiss.”
