Tina removed her coat and let the waiter take it away
“I hope you are hungry “
“I went running this morning so I would have an appetite “
“That is good – champagne or wine – which would you prefer?”
“I don’t mind “Tina said smiling – this was going to be one of those lunches like the lunch they had enjoyed at the Russian Tearooms where they had both got royally drunk.
Tina sat down and accepted the menu from another waiter
“Oh there is so much to pick “she handed the menu to her mother “You pick for me”
“Thank you – as its freezing out there today we will start with the Asparagus Mushroom soup and then we will have the lobster – how does that sound?”
“Perfect “
“Excellent – and can I see the wine list please?”
When the waiter scuttled off Tina smiled “So how was the food on the cruise?”
“Heavenly – and we stopped in some lovely places and I tried all sorts of foods”
“Dare devil “Tina said – Emma certainly looked well “You look amazing. I just cannot get over how great you look “
“Less of the old dragon?” she said smiling
“You look less stressed “
“I feel it”
“That’s good “
Tina wasn’t going to mention Kate until her mother did but it was a conversation they were going to have to have.
“And how are you? How is the café – and your dad’s restaurant? – and how is Bette?”
“I am great – the café is in the planning stage – I have become engrossed in food hygiene standards and cockroaches which amused my girlfriend no end. The restaurant is all ready to go I would say. He is going to have a few nights before Christmas where he cooks for family and friends – you are down for the 19th December – we have put you on a table with Rosemary, Melvin, Bette and I “
“I will clear my diary – send me a text about it will you ?”
“Dad will be issuing formal invitations “
Emma chuckled “Of course he is – gay to the tip of his toes – they will be done in the best calligraphy style “
Tina laughed “I vetoed the suggestion of the invite be in the shape of a hunky male torso -unless he was doing an all-male AIDS benefit “
“What did he say?”
“He is planning an AIDS benefit – actually he’s got a few themed nights sorted. And we are drawing up some adverts for him to go in selected magazines “

I loved the chapter, I hope whatever Bette found will give Emma the leg up she needs against Kate. I can’t believe what a bitch she is being. She should just take the settlement stay with her rich girlfriend and leave Emma alone. PPS
I love how this chapter unfolded. It takes a big person to admit that her mother was correct in a romantic situation. If Bette and Tina had attended the same college they wouldn’t have had an opportunity to develop their own personalities and appreciate what they had. After college, they could compare the fleeting hookups with their more adult relationship with each other. What was in the envelope must be significant.

yes I also think that if bette and tina had gone too the same collage they wouldn’t be together now and that’s very big of tina to admit another great chapter looking forward to the next pps.
What a grownup thing for Tina to admit that Emma was right. Her approach may have been harsh but they would have not been able to stay together at the same college. Too intense, too much drama. CSI Porter is on the job and Kate is going to get nothing but the clothes on her back if she is not careful. Did Emma have a PI on Kate or did Kate admit her affair in a letter? Bette and Tina are going to reap the benefits of being on the right side of Emma. Thank you for your dedication to the site and all time you devote to writing. Bring on some NYM.
This was a really important chapter in several ways.
Really good to Emma and Tina relationship is restored again.

Now Allye you know that chapter was way too short AND our curiosity is piqued. What was in the envelope? My question is if Kate has this wealthy new lover why is she trying to stick it to Emma? Maybe her new lover isn’t as wealthy as she seems and Kate is being scammed. Hmmmm. Please post again soon.
Great update , but in dying to know what was in the envelope? Was it related to the prenuptial agreement? And it’s just cruel of Tina to send her gf a selfie of her all dolled up and then runoff for lunch with mom…lol just so cruel

I hope Emma finds a new love as she seems to have mellowed and found new perspective. Can’t wait to learn what is in the envelope that Kate wants.
