    “So we have covered your dad, Bette, the café and the restaurant – that just leaves the elephant in the room – how is Kate? Have you two made your peace?”

    “I have tried mom – I have seen her twice – the first time we met in a dyke bar – she was 40 minutes later and it took her about five minutes to make some barb about you – I managed to ignore several of her comments until she said something I really took exception to and I walked out. She showed up at the apartment on Saturday – I had nipped out for some ice-cream so she talked to Bette who told her that criticizing you was something that really wasn’t going to work. She sneered at Bette for protecting you which didn’t go down well. When I showed up she hadn’t learnt any lessons of the last conversation I had with her. In truth she wanted to know where you were as she couldn’t get hold you – you weren’t answering your mobile”
    “Did you tell her I was away?”
    “No – I did tell her you had changed your phone. I also said you had beefed up your security – that didn’t go down well. I got upset because she hadn’t come to patch things up with me – she had come to pump me for information – Bette ordered her out because I was crying”
    “Oh sweetie “

    1. I loved the chapter, I hope whatever Bette found will give Emma the leg up she needs against Kate. I can’t believe what a bitch she is being. She should just take the settlement stay with her rich girlfriend and leave Emma alone. PPS

    2. I love how this chapter unfolded. It takes a big person to admit that her mother was correct in a romantic situation. If Bette and Tina had attended the same college they wouldn’t have had an opportunity to develop their own personalities and appreciate what they had. After college, they could compare the fleeting hookups with their more adult relationship with each other. What was in the envelope must be significant.

    5. What a grownup thing for Tina to admit that Emma was right. Her approach may have been harsh but they would have not been able to stay together at the same college. Too intense, too much drama. CSI Porter is on the job and Kate is going to get nothing but the clothes on her back if she is not careful. Did Emma have a PI on Kate or did Kate admit her affair in a letter? Bette and Tina are going to reap the benefits of being on the right side of Emma. Thank you for your dedication to the site and all time you devote to writing. Bring on some NYM.

      Really good to Emma and Tina relationship is restored again.
      CSI Bette, was the highlight of the chapter : D she examined the lock and found the envelope, just brilliant! :-D
      I’m wondering what was in it, why Kate would be able to break in?
      teenage first love is indeed a decisive and passionate feeling.
      Bette and Tina got a second chance on love, in one adult relationship, perhaps forever. ;)

    9. Now Allye you know that chapter was way too short AND our curiosity is piqued. What was in the envelope? My question is if Kate has this wealthy new lover why is she trying to stick it to Emma? Maybe her new lover isn’t as wealthy as she seems and Kate is being scammed. Hmmmm. Please post again soon.
