Bette turned. “Hello sexy “
“Hello yourself – what are you doing B ?”
“I picked up some very good quality thin steaks – thought it called for me to fry some onions and have them on herb ciabatta rolls – which I also picked up today . I didn’t remember seeing any mustard so I bought a couple of jars “
She smiled shyly hoping that Tina would find favour with this action. Things were still — well delicate with the blonde. She fully understood why and she wanted Tina to know that she was there for her and nothing would happen that would drive a wedge between them. Tina saw the gesture for what it was – one of love. She crossed to Bette and put her arms round her lover
“I don’t deserve you but I am so fucking glad that I have you “
Bette beamed
“Hungry ?”
“Yes if its steak and onion “
Bette kissed her quickly on the lips “ Good and cheese cake if you are really good “
“How good ?”
“That’s for you to guess and me to decide “
Tina snuggled closer to Bette and rested against her shoulder
“Its good to come home to you “
“It is very good to come home to you “ Bette replied. “How’s your day been ?”
“Bad for everyone who has come close to me – I ripped Eric apart this morning”
Bette raised an eyebrow in a quizzical way
“Reason ?”
“I was in a bad mood “
Bette eased away and turned on the grill
“Bette “
“Yeah “
“Look at me “
Bette turned “What ?”
“Can we sit and talk for a while – I need to get some things off my chest “
“Of course “
Bette switched the oven off and following Tina she left the kitchen.
Tina sat on the sofa and stretched out her body
“Being grumpy makes you stiff – you know that ?”
“I do “
Bette sat beside Tina and faced her
“Talk to me “
“I can’t shake this image “
“What image ?”
“There are two – the first one is a memory. The first place David and I had sex “

That was a nice, effective strategy to get the ugly images off Tina’s head. Replace them with good, loving and memorable ones. I enjoyed their bed talk, tickle war and laughter. Many thanks for this post, Ally! :>
You write loving dialogue so well – it’s sweet and real and just the right amount of mushy. Also sexy as hell.
Smell-o-vision? Bette’s going to have to make up some scratch n’ sniff cards like John Waters did for “Polyester”.

Its time these two get to relax and enjoy themselves, its been pretty tough for both since they came from Tina’s home. And boy, the images in Tinas head are pretty nasty to deal with.

Great chapter, as always!!! I love this story and I am glad that you are continuing it. Tina needs to learn to have a little more faith in Bette, but in the end, she did tell Bette her troubles. Bette was great in how supportive and helpful she was to Tina. Can’t wait to read about them in front of the fireplace :P PPVS
