Tina scratched her head “We could suggest going shopping with your mom”

“NO” Bette shook her head “My mother is already acting like a 5 year old whose been let loose on the e-numbers in the supermarket. Suggesting that we need her to get involved in what we are wearing will be too much for all of us. I think the world of Hannah and what she doesn’t need is Elizabeth getting anxious about what you and I are wearing. We told her that we would sort out our clothes ourselves “

Tina nodded “You are right – it would lead to all sorts of tensions – but we need to get a move on “

“I don’t disagree “ Bette said “What are you going to do with the rest of your day ?”

“Try and decide what to wear next Saturday for a rather important event that I am attending “

“Important you say ?”

“Yes “ Tina laughed and kissed Bette’s hand “What about you ?”

“I thought I would go out in the car – just have a drive and see where I ended up. Why don’t you go to the gym – and have a spell on the bike or the treadmill. You need to get some tension out of your system or next week is going to descend into the two of us getting tense with one another and everyone else”

Tina nodded “You are right – I do need to get a grip of myself “

“How about you go to the gym and go off and look around some shops for the afternoon . I am going for a drive and then I will get some shopping in and I will cook for us tonight and we can eat and watch a movie with the phone switched to answer-phone mode. Since we got back from Vegas its been non-stop”

“It has and you look tired “

“I need some fresh air “ Bette said honestly “I might drive down the coast – maybe if I find a market I could buy some fish and we could have that tonight”

“I will –so what do you think ? you go to the gym and I will go for a drive”
