    Chapters 3&4

     

    “I’m sorry Ms. Porter really, this is all my fault… I can offer you a solution though”

     

    “Really and what would that be?” Bette asked

     

    “Since this really is all my fault, I can offer you my babysitting services”

     

    “You want to babysit?”

     

    “Sure why not…I mean I used to babysit  Miranda when she was younger, so I have some experience, I can also provide character references from my parents if you like…they seem to like me”

     

    Tina let out a chuckle and quickly quieted when Bette remained silent

     

    “If they like you so much why is this the first time I hear about you, I didn’t even know they had an older daughter….how old are you anyway?” Bette asked

     

    Tina found Ms. Porter cute, as she smiled

     

    “I’m 27” Tina responded

     

    “See now I know there’s something shady going on I’ve known Sandra and Mike for a while now and I know they are not old enough to have a 27 year old daughter” Bette joked

     

    “They’ve kept me hidden…they don’t want people to know about their sordid past” Tina whispered

     

    Bette couldn’t help it and laughed, she liked this woman she didn’t know why but she did

     

    “I’m sorry Tina, but I really don’t know you and what if Angie doesn’t get along with you”

     

    “Look Ms. Porter, I feel really bad about this, why don’t I let Miranda take me over to your house and we can meet, and this way I can get to meet Angie, and we’ll take it from there ok?”

     

    Bette was silent…she really needed to be at this meeting, and she needed things to go well.

     

    “Ok, sure why not” Bette answered

     

    “We can be there in 20 minutes”

     

    “Ok Angie and I will see you in 20 minutes, bye” Bette hung up

     

    She sounds nice enough Bette thought.

     

    “What do you say boo, you want to meet this Tina person…you know she’s Miranda’s sister and you like Miranda don’t you?”

     

    Twenty minutes later the door bell rang, Bette placed the dirty dishes in the sink wiped Angie’s face, and carried her over to answer the door.
