“No, no Tina its fine” Bette said with a smile “Shall we get started?”
“Sure” Tina said
Bette shows Tina her plans for the presentation and her proposal, Tina is impressed with Bette’s plan and Ideas she has no doubt that when gets the proper backing the magazine will be a total success.
They work together for most of the afternoon with Bette putting ideas together and Tina verifying facts and figures finally the lunch Tina ordered from the planet arrives.
“Bette, you need to take a break the lunch Kit sent over is here”
“Tina, I’m alright you go ahead.”
Tina walks over to where Bette is sitting working on her speech, Tina takes the pen out of her hand removes her glasses and places her lunch in front of her.
“Come on Bette take 15 minutes have a couple of bites of your sandwich and relax for a bit, and I promise you’ll feel re-energized.”
“Ok, I’ll eat only if you make me some of the famous Tina Kennard cup of coffee”
“Already done here you go”
“T you really take care of me”
Tina felt her pulse quicken, did she just call me T?
“Did you just call me T?” Tina asked
Bette felt the heat rise up to her cheeks
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable”
“No, you didn’t make me feel uncomfortable I, I like it” Smiled Tina
“Bette, I have an idea you know your presentation , it’s really good but being that your pitching for an art magazine why don’t we dress it up a bit”
“Dress it up? What do you mean T?” Bette smiled calling her T
“I have editing equipment I can make this presentation into a mini movie by the time I’m done with it they be giving you buckets full of money”
“You can really do that T?”
“Bette that’s what I do, I’m the best!” Tina said with a huge grin
“Do you think you can do it by Monday do we have time?” asked Bette
“Yeah Bette I can do it if not you stick with your original plan which is great too”
“Do you trust me Bette?”
“Yeah, I trust you” Bette said
“When is your meeting with Helena Peabody?” Bette suddenly asked

I like the twist… though Tina is the ‘ugly duckling’ coming of age so to speak, the title seems to be from her gorgeous boss’ perspective… PPS!
This is so cute. Tina the ugly duckling (really the beautiful swan) working hard to be successful and lusting after the incredible hard working Bette Porter.
What a great story! Maybe Bette can revisit that dinner invitation after her presentation… a victory celebration with Tina. Glad Bette’s able to see beyond the big glasses and unflattering clothes… although Tina in those jeans certainly helped! Look forward to seeing how her interview with Helena goes.
I have the feeling Bette is going to miss Tina like crazy after she successfully lands a concrete with the movie studio. Perhaps this will prompt her to realize that Tina already holds her heart. This is such a wonderful story! Thanks for sharing it.

I yust chatched up with your story. I love it. I love this shy and ‘ugly’ Tina but in the inside she is a strong young and beautiful lady. I like Bette that she sees unbeknown to her the lovley and beautiful side of Tina. I can’t wit for more. Great you for your first one. PPS
Tina seems very comfortable in her skin and she takes care of Bette like it is secon nature. Can’t wait for them to get closer, maybe Tina’s tutoring session will be canceled and she can go back and have dinner with Bette. PS
Love this story. Your Tina is loving and caring as always and I am very glad to see that. She is dedicated to her life and what it is she is trying to do and still has time to feel and care for others. That is the mark of a very wonderful person that deserves the same care and treatment for herself that she gives to others, yet she asks for nothing for herself. Now it is Bette’s turn to do some things for Tina. Bette needs to investigate what she needs and pay her more for starters. Does Tina take the bus or does he have a car of her own? I’l bet she takes the bus, and if that is the case, Bette shoudl buy her a car with insurance so it will be a little easier for her to commute from the dorm to school. And Bette should make this job more than temporary so Tina can stop having to go all over town for temp jobs. I like this Tina very much. This is a prime example of “pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps.” Tina has done a magnificient job of taking care of herself. And no doubt she will rise quickly to the top of her chosen profession. Bette should give her a car for graduation but give it to her early. Great update. PPS
