Tina sat there speechless for what seemed like hours finally Helena said
“Tina, I know this is a lot to take in, I’m going to give you some time to look over our offer and give you a chance to counter if there is something you’re not happy with. If you need someone to help you look over the contract I can get you some names of a couple good lawyers.”
“No, no Helena I’m ok I’m just taken aback that’s all a little overwhelmed”
“Tina, if you decide to sign on with us, I will warn you, you’re going to have to give us 110% I won’t take anything less like I said I expect the best from the best, so be prepared to work and work hard. I’ll be honest with you I was a little hesitant at first to offer you such an important position given your age, your very young, and this business can be very brutal. Your age and the fact that you’re a female, your automatically going to have to work twice as hard to prove yourself, your going to find people are not going to welcome you with open arms, people who think you’re not deserving of the position you’re in, there are going to be some that are going to bring you down wanting you to fail. You’re going to have to developed thick skin Tina; I just hope you’re ready for that.”
Tina swallowed the lump that was forming in the back of her throat. She looked up at Helena and said.
“I’ve been ready ever since I saw my first movie, I’ve never wanted to do anything else” Tina said
“Very well then, I think our meeting is officially over I will give until Monday, to make your decision “Helena stuck her hand out to Tina shook her hand gave her a huge smile and walked her to the door of her office.
“I’ll look forward to hearing from you Tina”
“Thank you Helena for your time” Tina said as she walked out the office with the smile so big her cheeks began to hurt. Tina used all her self control to walk calmly out of the offices rather than run and scream for joy. For some reason she had a big urge to call Bette and share the news with her, but she contained herself and decided to head up to campus and talk to her friend Jenny.

I agree with fellow Texan, BettyVHall. And might I ask “has Bette lost her everlovin’ mind” planning to stay the night with Catherine is just plain crazy and she even hesitated. In my book if you hesitate, you really don’t want to spend the night or even have dinner. All these naysayers will be jealous as everything when they learn that Tina will be gong to work as a VP. Yea Tina, go girl. If she takes the job and I hope she will that at least solves the question of her having transportation and making a salary that everyone would love to have. Wonder what Bette will think? Can hardly wait to see what happens next. And who the hell cares what Alice will think. PPS
