Bette sat in her office looking at the clock on her wall, ‘I wonder if Tina is done with her meeting with Helena?’ ‘I hope she didn’t sign anything’ ‘should I call her?’ No, no, I’ll just see her tomorrow. God what’s happening in too me why do I care so much about her, she’s just an employee, just an employee Bette looked at the clock again ‘She should be done, I mean how long can it take? I’m going to call her, Bette picked up her phone started to dial the number that for some reason she knew by heart even though she had never called Tina then she hung up. I’ll see her tomorrow, I’m going to call, just as she was reaching for the phone it rang it startled her for a second.
“L Magazine how may I help you”
“Bette? It’s Catherine”
“Hi, Catherine what a surprise? How are you?”
“I’m good Bette, why are you answering your phone where’s your help?”
“I gave her the day off; she had a meeting to go to”
“I ran into Alice at the planet she tells me she calls your assistant ugly Tina”
“She’s not ugly” Bette said rather annoyed
“Bette you don’t have to get snippy about it, she’s just so plain looking”
“She’s not plain, either” Bette replied “Catherine did you call just to insult my assistant or is there something I can help you with?”
“I’m sorry Bette; I guess I am acting like a snob I’m sorry, I called to see if you were free for dinner tonight? I really want to see you” Catherine said in a sexy voice
Bette was silent for a minute, I might as well go or I’m going to sit here all night and just think of Tina.
“Catherine that sounds great, what time and where do you want to meet?”
“How about I send my driver for you”
“Oh, but I have my car”
“Bette don’t worry about your car, I can drive you back to your office in the morning”
“In the morning?” Bette asked
“I was hoping you would agree to spend the night, you know finish were we left off?” Catherine said in a low voice
“Ok, give me an hour to finish up my paper work?” Bette smiled
“Great see you in a bit”

I agree with fellow Texan, BettyVHall. And might I ask “has Bette lost her everlovin’ mind” planning to stay the night with Catherine is just plain crazy and she even hesitated. In my book if you hesitate, you really don’t want to spend the night or even have dinner. All these naysayers will be jealous as everything when they learn that Tina will be gong to work as a VP. Yea Tina, go girl. If she takes the job and I hope she will that at least solves the question of her having transportation and making a salary that everyone would love to have. Wonder what Bette will think? Can hardly wait to see what happens next. And who the hell cares what Alice will think. PPS
