“Tell Bette what?”

“I was just saying goodnight.” Leigh finished.

Remembering Angie was still holding her hand and had Riley on the leash she turned to her daughter. “Angie, sweetie please say goodnight to Ms. Leigh and then take Riley back to your room OK? Start getting ready for bed. I’ll be there in a minute.”

“Good night Ms. Leigh.” Angie said obediently.

“Good night Angie. It was nice visiting with you today.”

“Thank you. We had a lot of fun.”

“Yes we did. Good night.” Leigh answered once again being impressed by the precocious the little girl.

With that Angie takes Riley back to her room and releases him from his leash. She starts getting ready for bed as she waits for her mommies.

“Sorry if we interrupted. “ Bette said looking at the two women for any signs of how the talk went.

“No we were finished. We had a really good talk. We cleared up a lot of things. Leigh’s headed to the Planet to meet up with the girls.” Tina said, easing Bette’s mind.

“Good. I’m sure Shane will keep up her pursuit but she’s harmless. Just tell her to back off if it bothers you.”

“No she’s no bother. I was telling Tina that I thought she was really sweet.”

“She is sweet and she’s good people. I’ll walk you to your car.” Bette offered.

“OK thanks. Good night Tina. Thanks again for everything. I guess I’ll see you around sometime.”

“Good night Leigh and thank you. Enjoy your evening.” Bette and Leigh walk out to her car.

“I hope you two were able to work things out.” Bette wanted Leigh’s perspective.

“I think so. We may even become friends eventually. She’s a good person Bette, and she obviously loves you very much. I can’t blame her for being protective.”

“I know that. We’ve been through a lot to get here and neither one of us want to mess it up.”

“Well you can be sure I won’t be the cause of any trouble between you.”

“Thank you. So I’ll see you on Monday. Don’t forget we have the faculty meeting on Wednesday.”
