The Gathering – 01.98 – Like Me Now – Intro to the King Pt 5 – Meaning

“You’re not getting him.” Sam said calmly, stepping forward, her hand reaching for the gun. He stepped forward, and Sam didn’t flinch. “Please, don’t do this.” Sam begged and Shane shook hard as Jesse wrapped his little arms around her neck.

“You know I’ll die keeping him away from you and from harm.” Sam said, Jo flicked the safety off, come on Sam get the ***** out of the way, he’s going to shoot any second now.

“SAM!” Shane said, Sam didn’t move, he wasn’t going to hurt Shane or Jesse, never.

“Fine.” The man said calmly, as he pulled the trigger and shot Sam in the chest, right through the heart, sending her flying back into Shane’s arms. Jesse yelling her name as Jo shot Richard in the shoulder, then in the knee. The gun flying from his hand as she moved to secure him. Amy already calling 911 from her spot behind her car door. Damn it Sam!

Emma, Jo’s partner and life time friend was arriving, Darci Haim-Cyr in the passengers seat and Shelby Doyle in the back seat of Emma’s Honda. Jo finished handcuffing the bleeding man and she spat on him. She was angry, her eyes flashed with it as she kicked sand on the man, turning and seeing Sam’s blood on the same sand.

“If you killed her, I’ll make sure you spend the rest of your miserable life in a cell with a man who *****’s you on an hourly basis.” Jo promised her voice filled with hate and anger.

Darci rushed to Sam’s side, Shane pressing her hand over the wound, very little blood flowed. She cried as she saw the blood slowing, she knew it was over. Jayden scooped Jesse up and held him, turning his head away from the death. Sam, why?

“Don’t leave me Sam, please you cannot do this, ***** brave ***** *****, you can’t leave me and Jesse, what are we going to do without you?” Shane sobbed as Darci slid to a stop next to her, she felt for a pulse and yelled to Jo and Shelby dropped Darci’s medical bag next to her and moved Sam into a better position. Shelby nodded and Darci cursed the brave doctor. Sam’s eyes fluttered open and she groaned, trying to say something, but she couldn’t the pain wracked her body like she’d never felt before.

“Love….” She muttered, and she blacked out, and Shane yelled at the top of her lungs, shaking and touching Sam’s now peaceful face.

                “NO!!!”

“We need medivac now Jo! And a miracle if you’ve got on in your back pocket.”
