    Tina stirs. The bottle of champagne she drank last night has given her a massive headache and her teeth feel like they’re wearing sweaters. She struggles to open her eyes as she turns her head to free herself from her lover’s curls. She climbs out of bed in search of her trusty bottle of Advil

    Tina stirs. The bottle of champagne she drank last night has given her a massive headache and her teeth feel like they’re wearing sweaters. She struggles to open her eyes as she turns her head to free herself from her lover’s curls. She climbs out of bed in search of her trusty bottle of Advil and a toothbrush, foregoing her robe and walking downstairs for water. She returns to bed and snuggles close, hoping the next few hours and the feel of Bette’s loving warmth will grant her relief.

    She closes her eyes and tries to go back to sleep but her thoughts drift to the last few months. How did things get so bad between them? How did she let her job come before them, come before the love of her life. Has she really been hiding, running, pushing and flailing, all at the same time? It is no wonder she’s exhausted and her heart feels like it’s been through the ringer.

    She’s never been able to give herself completely to anyone. Trust, or lack thereof, is behind the many and constant failed relationships. But her tall, thick walls have been built to protect herself from the onslaught of Hollywood poachers and fake everything. It’s almost a matter of survival in an amoral, fast living town, a dog eat dog industry. In a land where people want and want and want from her, she’s had no choice but to keep herself distant, keep her heart hard. Only her close personal friends have been able to penetrate the layers of protection and even they have only scratched the surface.

    She opens her eyes and looks at the gorgeous woman lying next to her. Bette’s hair falls beautifully around her face. Her chest heaves in peaceful slumber. Her bravery, her loyalty and her passion knows no bound. Bette has been the only person to go truly deep into her heart and soul, to shatter all barriers, to love her absolutely, completely and unconditionally. Yet the walls around Tina’s heart have been resurrected. They stand tall and hard and Tina has done nothing but to make them more impenetrable.

    Why? Why the battle, why the fear, why the lack of trust? Why can’t she free herself and give everything in return. She loves Bette deeply and truly, she has no doubt about that. But if she doesn’t act, if she doesn’t fight, she will lose her forever. Tina shivers at the thought. She needs to change her ways. She needs to find a way to let Bette in. Instead of expecting her heart to be broken, like Shane so aptly put it, she needs to let it fill with love. She needs to accept Bette’s love, to treasure it and to worship it.

    4. I think Helena receive a kick in the ass by Tina and Bette and friendship will be lost by Tina and the girls. I hope that this time a coup Bette and Tina Helena too! Thanks for your chapter.

    5. If Tina is questioning anyone’s devious motives it should be Helena’s not Bette. All she needs to do is think about what happened on the island and how she came to be on that plane in the first place. Additionally she either trusts Bette or she doesn’t. Bette doesn’t need to explain herself. If Bette is an assassin, I hope Helena is her next target and this time she finishes the job. :-)

    9. As Tina’s friends they should’ve been told her what Helna was trying to do. They are not.really good friends because they are continually let Helena attempt to sabotage B&T relationship without Tina having a clue.
