    Bette and Tina have dinner

     

    Tina was almost trembling with anticipation – this was really happening. Bette was holding her hand and they were going to her room and they would undress each other and travel once familiar routes over one each others bodies. Bette opened the door and lead Tina inside – the room was bathed in soft light and Bette had placed a single yellow rose on the bed.

    “You knew all along “ Tina accused her laughing.

    “I hoped – not knew. The hope started when you touched my face at the Planet. Tina – we both know we want to make love, we want the earth shattering feeling that only we can achieve as a couple. We also both know that we want more than a few days of intimacy. This isn’t going to be making love for old times sake. This is because “

    Bette hesitated but finally continued

     

    “This is because we want to share a life again “

    “Yes Bette – I want that and I meant what I said — I will do what it takes “

    “I don’t know if I am up to all night sessions like I used to “

    Bette said softly taking hold of both of Tina’s hands

    “Trust me – I’m not used to all night sessions either “

     

    Tina kissed Bette’s hands

     

    “Anyway – after the day that we have had I don’t think either of us could do an all night session “

    “Tina “

    “Yeah “

    “I have missed you so much – I love you “

    “I love you Bette – I’ve tried hard not to but I do and I always will “

    Bette touched Tina’s face.

     

    “This is going to sound crazy but I really need to sit down – I’m so shattered “

    “We can just sleep if you want to “

    “I don’t want – and neither do you “

    “No – I don’t but I thought I’d offer “

    “Very kind but I just need to get the weight off my knees – I am sure that he is going to be some gargantuan sized baby when he is born “

    Bette sat on the bed and kicked off her flat shoes.

    29. Damn, Bette can make anything look sexy. You used one my favorite words, lascivious. In my early 20’s some co-workers and I were to learn a new word, spell it and define it. I never did remember how to spell it but to this day I love saying it. I am so glad that they are reconnecting. Life is to short and too lonely to not take advantage of spending that special time with the one that you love.

Slow, sweet, soft… I do find it a tad strange that it’s all happening so quickly and easily; I guess it’s the mild cynical side of me where I think that anything to do with love is hard. Well that’s been my life experience…but in the end I guess I must still say that i’ve been fortunate enough to have loved…if not loved in return.
