Chapter 6 Secret Confession
They drive in a comfortable silence, radio between them is broadcasting a beautiful song, “Perfect” by the famous British singer Ed Sheeran.
I found a love for me
Darling just dive right in
And follow my lead
Well I found a girl beautiful and sweet
I never knew you were the someone waiting for me
Bette can’t help steals a glare at Tina, who is now driving attentively. The blonde uses one hand to control the steering wheel, the other leans on the open window, her head lazily rests on her fist. The wind blows through, makes her golden hair blowback, with the sunset, she looks like a goddess.
Bette nervously sneaks at her, Tina finds that someone is staring, doesn’t say anything but turns her head. Their eyes meet, a strange but comfortable feeling runs through both of their body, two teenagers blush at the same time. Tina gives Bette a warm, genuine smile, then put her attention back to the road. Bette’s heart skips a beat just looking at the beautiful face.
Cause we were just kids when we fell in love
Not knowing what it was
I will not give you up this time
But darling, just kiss me slow, your heart is all I own
And in your eyes you’re holding mine
Bette has had enough.
“Why?” She asks.
“Sorry?” Tina replies a smile.
“Why are you being so nice to me?”
“I don’t get it, should I be bad to you?”
“After what we did…the awful things I said, no one will ever willing to talk to me, no need to mention stopping by and offering her a help when their car broke down! And…and…and it is even more impossible to welcome her a place to stay. But you, you did nothing but being so nice, you must be out of your mind!”
Baby, I’m dancing in the dark with you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song
When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight
Tina chuckles for Bette’s frustration, Bette frowns for the laugh.
“Yeah, maybe I am.” Tina says, almost like a whisper, her grin becomes even bigger.
