“Good morning, today…”
“So that’s it?” Kelly whispers.
“Don’t worry, she hasn’t opened the gift.”
Tina sits in her new seat, focusing on the lecture, suddenly, a small noise appears from her drawer force her to divert her attention. She tilts her head and take a look, a thing makes her eyes wide open.
A fat rat curled in the corner of the drawer, the size is big as Tina’s palm, it’s brown hair erection and long teeth make a sharp noise that will scare any city girl away, most people actually, will regard it as a scary monster and run away immediately.
But Tina shakes her head with a big smile.
For a girl who grew up on a big farm in North Carolina, compared to the rat in the country yard, this one is as cute as a little hamster.
“Hello, sweetie,” Tina says to the little creature, she puts her palm in front of it. “Don’t be afraid, I won’t hurt you.”
The rat first hesitates, but then it slowly walks on to Tina’s hand.
“There you go, buddy,” Tina gently rubs it’s back, the rat happily squeaks. “Hey, can you do me a favor?”
While the teacher continues talking, Kelly can’t hold back her curiosity.
“How’s it going?”
“I don’t know,” Alice says. “It’s too peaceful in the back.”
“Hey, Adele…” Kelly says, she is looking at Adele’s bag, something is squirming inside.
“Shh, I’m working on something…”
“Adele…” Now even Bette starts to concern about it.
“I said, I’m working on something, gosh, don’t you guys understand English?”
“Adele.” Bette says in a stern tone.
“WHAT?”
“Your bag.” Kelly and Bette say at the same time.
“What are you guys talking about…”
Adele rolls her eyes and put her hand in her bag. With a loud scream, Adele jumps up from her seat and runs to the front door.
“Miss. Channing! What are you doing?” Mrs. Steinem shout out.
“Ra…ra…”
“This is outrageous! Go back to your seat!”
“There is a rat in my bag!”
“That is impossible, there is no such thing in this clean room…”
A small noise from the bag instantly makes the class quiet down, they slowly turn their head and stare at Adele’s bag, two seconds later a rat’s head abruptly pops out, making a louder squeak.

On a serious note, it is truly sad that some children can bully other children with such cruelness, just because they are different in their opinion and that gives them a right to treat them as shit. Sadly that grown up people do the same still.

Great story just started reading it.. just wanted to say gasoline burns the skin and if it went over head into eyes and inhaling the fumes from it would have caused all to be sick. school would have been evacuated. Criminal charges would have been brought. Im just saying.. i know its not the real world story. But i still love your story. Lol
