The Nightmare
Bette gulped. Her gaze was intense. Tina continued drawing circles on her forearm.
“Then when I finally came, your face changed into Candace’s. Then I woke up. And you were staring at me. I wasn’t sure if I had said her name out loud. And I have no idea what it means. I knew you knew something was off with me because I saw the confusion in your eyes.”
Tears started streaming down Tina’s face.
“Why didn’t you talk to me about it?” Bette whispered.
“Because I was ashamed and I didn’t have the words to express my feelings.”
“You ran away from me…again.” Bette said even quieter.
“I know.”
“How are we going to rebuild and move on if you can’t even talk to me about a fucking dream.”
“It was a nightmare,” Tina said softly.
Bette gently started to move her arm. Tina tugged on it. Bette looked at her with such sadness. Tina released Bette’s arm and her tears started coming faster. By this time, Julia’s camera was back on. Julia cleared her throat to let them know she had returned.
“Thank you for sharing, Tina. Thank you for listening, Bette. Okay. That is a lot to unpack. Tina, you mentioned Bette wouldn’t allow you to kiss her or touch her during this…nightmare.”
“Everytime I tried, she pulled away or grabbed my arm.”
“When you caught Bette and Candace together…”
“We were never together,” Bette snapped.
“I misspoke, Bette. I apologize.”
Bette exhaled.
“Tina, when you walked in on Candace kissing Bette, how did you feel?”
“Betrayed,” Tina said flatly.
“Now that you are well aware Candace was the one who pursued Bette and basically attacked her with that kiss, do you think that could possibly have anything to do with the way your nightmare played out?”
“I guess. I…uh…I don’t know,” Tina shook her head.
“Okay. Well, your homework is for you to find out.”
“And how do you suggest we do that,” Bette asked curtly.
“I am so glad you asked,” Julia smiled and clapped her hands.
Bette rolled her eyes.
“Okay!! For tonight’s homework…and yes, I want you to do it tonight. Part 1: go to separate corners of the house and purge all of your feelings into your journals. Really take some time to get it all out. No swimming. No running. Just journaling.”

Good advice from Julia…. I hope it works out for these two. Thanks for the update… like to see more.
Thanks for reading!!! I hope it works out for them too.
So good to see a update on this absolutely brilliant written story!
I’m glad they have Julia as therapist, honest and not afraid to tell some truths.
I have the faith they will reunite, stronger than ever but the path leading to that is full of bumps on the road.
Brilliant to see an update. Thank you so much and please write more soon.
