    The One to Meet

Marty “So what you’re telling me is that we’ve got trouble from the future and there’s a multiverse?”

Doc “Precisely, Marty! This is a threat far graver than any we’ve ever faced.”

Marty “Hold on, didn’t you have kids last time we saw you?”

Clara “Jules and Verne… where we call home… It’s in your near future, but… that future’s gone.”

Clara’s voice begins to shake as this is something that has haunted her from the moment it became apparent.

Doc “We witnessed the ripple effect, but instead of a photo it was an entire universe. All existence around us was fading out with no one even noticing. Had we stayed we would have been next, but our children… For some reason they were among the first to disappear.”

    Jennifer gasps.

    Jennifer “That’s horrible!”

Doc “Horrible, yes. It’s also illogical.”

Marty “Hey, who knows? I mean you may pick them up in time after some traveling and fixing first.”

Doc “No. Marty, our children have been abducted and they’re trapped somewhere inside of a multiverse of dying worlds.”

Marty “Okay, so how are we gonna save the day on this one?”

Doc is silent as he looks down at his notes that have been scribbled down on paper.

Clara “We don’t know yet. All we know for sure is that Doc and I discovered the existence of multiple universes in our travels before settling down. We’ve even visited some of them during my vacation from teaching.”

Doc “It’s a matter of knowing where to look first, but the bad weather you just experienced in Nineteen-Eighty-Six makes such travel far more dangerous.”

Marty “Dangerous hasn’t always stopped us before, Doc.”
