    The One to Meet

Alice “Fuck. Anybody have a clue what’s going on here?”

Bette and Shane look at each other and then to Alice.

    Shane “Not the slightest, man.”

    Bette “The waterfalls.”

Jenny stands near the end, looking away from them.

Jenny “Yes, we’ve been here before. The whole group of us. This was when reality changed.

Bette “Jenny. I don’t know what you’re doing here or what we’re doing here, but we need to go home.”

Jenny “Home? There’s nothing left of what you call home. This is home.”

Jenny wears black robes, turning back to her friends.

Jenny “And as fucked up as everything is, this is the place you want to be right now.”

Shane “Guys, one of us is having a weird dream right now and I’m trying to figure out which of us it is.”

Alice “Dana’s funeral! This is where we spread her ashes!”

Jenny “Imalahkaha. Yes, these are the waterfalls Dana’s spirit calls home. This is more of a construct of it for the spirit realm, but you get the idea I’m sure.”

Bette “Okay. Someone pinch me or slap me or something. This is obviously a bad dream built up by lots of stress in my life with the election and personal matters!”

Alice “Uh, Bette? I don’t think this is a dream.”

Jenny “No it isn’t, Alice. This is reality, or at least for people like us the closest we’ll get to it.”

Alice “Okay, but why here? I mean I miss Dana, too but I don’t know why we’re here.”

Jenny “Dana’s missing. This place is a lot emptier without her and I need to find her.”

Bette “You’re telling me Dana basically disappeared from Heaven?”

    Jenny “Dana disappeared from us.”

Alice “Did she at least say where she was going?”

Jenny looks at Bette then back to Alice.

Jenny “Dana went to find Kit. She’s gone missing ever since. If I’m going to find her so she can fix all of these problems your world has been having lately, I’m gonna need someone still anchored to the world we left.”

Shane “Is this because I named my bar after her?”

Jenny “No, Shane and yes it’s a nice tribute. This is not how it’s supposed to be though.”
