The One to Meet

Rowan “I still have so many abilities and so much to show this multiverse of worlds. And all of it will be pain.”

The Doctor’s TARDIS.
Things are beginning to go horribly wrong as far as the Doctor can tell. As Rey looks on in the control room, the Doctor begins talking, largely to herself, but also to Rey while assuming the controls in the center of the room.
Thirteenth Doctor “Beyond the Time Lords, who according to the Master have been destroyed… along with home. Everything is a lie… But what lie is it? I don’t know. I have the power of the force on my side though, but no companions… well, aside from the power of the force. Certainly not complaining about that, but there’s something going on within the timeline. Something’s messing it all up and I need to find out who or what. …Who. Who! Bloody brilliant.”
Rey “Do you always talk to yourself like this?”
Thirteenth Doctor “Sometimes I’m quite more animated. I know what needs to be done and I know just the meeting place! I hate that Gallifrey isn’t in its best days, but perhaps a little reaching out will do the trick.”
The Doctor uses her control panel to send out a coded message through time. It is meant to reach certain individuals where and when to meet.
Thirteenth Doctor “Ah, there we go. All we have to do now is go home. Well, my old home planet.”
Rey nods, still not understanding completely what the Doctor is on about.

Washington, DC.
The year is 1993. Another day inside the United States House of Representatives has ended for Congresswoman Christine Sullivan of New York’s 13th District. While dealing with various echo chambers from differing directions of the political spectrum has been one thing for the freshman Representative to get used to, another thing she has gotten used to is the occasional phone call and visit from Dan Fielding, her former co-worker at the infamous Night Court back in the Bronx. With all of these things considered, she is ready to relax, having kicked her heels off and crashing on the sofa inside her apartment. At some point, she will grow tiresome of the makeup, attire, jewelry, and hosiery still attached to her body, but for now she simply sighs. She knows in an hour, she’ll be leaving again to pick her young daughter, Daisy up from the nursery school. For now though, there is just relaxation. Her peaceful silence however is interrupted by the phone ringing.
