Alice “Wait. So you two are from a different universe?”

Lara “We’re not supposed to be.”

Jenny “That’s the problem. Our world was split for a new generation. It was sacrificed. We’re going to find Dana and Kit. Then we’re going to do something about all this.”

Sanctuary.

Kit Porter looks around at the asteroid field surrounding this strange place she is in. With her are two children, among others. Since their arrival, she has seen herself as a guardian for them.

Kit “Hey, y’all okay over there?”

Both boys shake their head. Kit looks back at the throne where someone seated away from them sits.

Kit “You know you can’t keep us here forever. Not me, not any of these others here.”

“And just where are you gonna go?”

Kit “Anywhere, back home!”

“Home? What home? Your home was destroyed, as were the others. You don’t have a home now, only me. Those children you keep protecting, they’re just here, because there’s something I want more, something I couldn’t get my hands on without making things less pleasant. As for you, Miss Porter, you’re an anomaly. Someone’s after you and it’s someone who’s been elusive to me ever since I wound up outside my home realm. And trust me, that realm?”

He turns the throne around and Kit sees his face. It is pale and there is not a single trace of humanity left in him.

Rowan “It deserves to burn. I’m going to make sure any survivors from there suffer the most. I’ll enjoy pestering them into their own apocalypse.”

Kit “Look, I don’t know what fuck your problem is, but I had a great afterlife going on with some friends and you decide to butt in and bring me to this shit hole.”

Rowan “This isn’t as you call it, a ‘shit hole.’ This is Sanctuary. Something left over by another mad genius who had a great plan, but didn’t read the fine print when it came to enacting it. Now, I call it home and it’s nice to be among the living again, even if it’s not really as true. You’ll serve your purpose, as will the others soon enough.”

Rowan North lifts himself from the throne and begins to levitate.
