The Perfect Getaway – Chapter 6
"Hey . . can we talk?" Bette rushed up to Tina and grabbed her hand, speaking to her wife in a soft and timid voice.
"Yeah" Tina said with a soft sigh. She was just as ready to make amends as Bette was but she was still a bit upset with the brunette’s earlier behavior, "I just need to run to the store. We can head back to the hotel and order room service"
"Okay, do you want me to go with you?"
"No, its fine. You can stay here" Tina’s quick response took Bette by surprise and confused her to say the least. She thought Tina wanted to make up. Still, she nodded and let the blonde go on her way.
Bette stood by the beach and waited for her wife to emerge from the town shop. She silently wondered about Tina’s reaction for company. It was weird but Bette couldn’t put her finger on it, her thoughts stopping once Tina left the shop with nothing in hand. That was another thing Bette found odd since Tina had been in the shop for at least ten minutes.
Maybe she didn’t find what she was looking for.
Bette watched as Tina stood in front of the town shop, talking with one of the women they met at the resort. She was smiling as she played with the tiny baby in the woman’s arms, throwing her head back in laughter as she made the baby laugh out loud.
The baby cooed while holding out its tiny, chubby arms and Tina completely melted. She took the baby in her own arms, glowing with happiness.
Bette crossed her arms as she looked on, completely taken by the sight. She knew deep down that’s what she wanted, to raise a family with Tina but then Brian came and threw himself against Tina’s hip and all those emotions went out the window.
Bette was afraid that her negative feelings towards the five year old would pass onto her own child and in turn she would resent the baby. Bette was terribly afraid of becoming her mother, her need to want Tina all to herself convinced the brunette that she was well on her way.

Great chapter. Bette can sometimes go off the rails and this was a doozy. When she can get her mind in gear she will do and say the right thing for Tina and herself. Thanks for posting.

Sorry, I’m laughing at some of the comments. Could a vacation get any worse for our couple. I wonder what would have happened had they not had all the disruptions… just saying. Bette’s reactions are normal for someone who didn’t have both parents lovingly support her. We all have our foibles and fears. But, I’m quite sure that in the end she’ll be able to get it together for Tina’s sake. Thanks for an awesome posting!
