The Real Deal Ch 13
“I hate him. I don’t want to be like him. He has no remorse, no guilt, no sense of responsibility, not capable of loving anyone but himself. I am not like him? Or am I?” she rambles.
“You are nothing like him, you are kind, loyal and responsible. I have seen the way you look after Shay. You go out of you way to make him happy. I believe you are stronger than you think you are. We all have a choice, you have a choice not to look after him, but you did, you chose to. That is something, Shane.”
“He came prepared, he thought about everything. He even used my police record against me! I was a kid then, it didn’t know better, I got no one.” Her voice is cracking again.
“You have friends. They all love you. I am going to kill him for making you think like that! I am going to fucking kill him!” I pull Shane closer to me, wrapping my arms around her head. I want to protect her.
“You can’t blame yourself.” I add.
“You really think so?” You look up and stare at me with those emerald eyes. I can feel her pain.
“Yeah.” I kiss her on her lips firmly. We both needed the reassurance.
“You want to know a secret?” I tease her.
“What secret?” she asks weakly.
“A secret that I haven’t told anyone outside of my family before.” I smile.
“You have my attention.” She wipes her tears away roughly.
“My dad, actually it’s my step dad cause you already knew that I never met my dad. He is a bastard too.” I am telling her something that I have kept it close to my heart for years.
“What did he do? You only told me that your parents were divorced when you were 15.” She says.
“He started abusing my mother physically when I was 12. He was a caring father until he was hooked to gambling. Whenever he lost money, he would come back and hit her. It wasn’t that bad at the beginning but it got worst and worst.” I feel lighter now that I said it aloud.

Thanks for posting ^^ The scene where Carmen sings was…weird…I have to admit that I laughed when I imagined that, but it was nice to see Carmen supporting Shane. I hope we don’t have to wait too long for your next chapter.
haha, Carmen can sing! Sarah’s interview on Drop TV is on YouTube. Glad you find it funny though!
Wow, the Shane/Paige/Gabe scene had my eyes popping out of their sockets ! Poor Paige. She’s been played in the nastiest of ways :( That man is an ass.
Of course Carmen can sing!!!! She’s not just a pretty face. It was a nice post, i really enjoyed the two songs and the way everything is moving. It’s nice to see how they get closer and closer. PPS Loving every single word of it.
I love that Carmen and Shane are so connected and in tune with each other emotionally that Carmen knows where to find Shane when she’s troubled and she also knows how to cheer her up… with love and sweet songs. Keep on writing. I think this is the real deal. PPS
Ugh. I hate that Shane lost Shay. I like the way you had Carmen cheer her up though. Wow..Shane’s mom looking for her. That will be interesting. It was also an interesting development with Carmen’s step dad being abusive. Adds more to her character development. I like it.
Oh please don’t let it end. Keep posting now…
There’s so much going on it’s great!! I really hate Gabe, he is such a horible person. I love how Carmen and Shane can just be there for each other despite the fact that their relationship is really up in the air. It shows that no matter what the current circumstances are they truly care for each other…and that’s something to build a relationship on. I really hope that Shane’s mom coming into the picture is a good thing…I don’t think I could handle anymore heartbreak for Shane. Awesome job!!!
