    Janice says hello. How will Bette react?
    (Sequel to the The Roommates)
    B&T Beginning Set on College Campus

     

    Three years had passed since shed last laid eyes on the woman that had given her life and as she stood there, gazing out at her mother, Bettes emotions continued to battle each other. Shed missed this woman for three years. For three years shed wanted to be wrapped in Janices arms and feel loved and wanted. And so, there was a part of her that longed to rush at the tall, thin blonde standing before her, hug her fiercely and vow to never let go.

     

    And where longing stopped, fury began. Three years and this woman couldnt even pick up a phone to say hello or even wish her baby girl Happy Birthday or Merry Christmas. For three years this womans selfishness had imprisoned and plagued a part of her only childs self-esteem and peace of mind. Bette was angry at being abandoned and this anger wouldnt allow her to raise her arms and wrap them lovingly around their late night visitor.

     

    These emotions seemed to cancel each other out and when Janice pushed forward and wrapped her arms around her baby girl, Bette didnt hug back and her dark, tear-less eyes were focused on the wall in front of her. Janice pulled back and held her daughter at arms length, her soft blue eyes brimming with tears, a bittersweet smile planted across her face. A mixture of happiness and regret welled within the blonde New Yorker and she softly spoke to her only child.

     

    Bette, sweetheart.youre all grown up. Youre so beautiful. My God. Youre absolutely stunning., said Janice, the tears beginning to trickle down her cheeks.

     

    Bette wished that she could smile in return. That she could hug her mother and pretend the last three years had not happened. But she couldnt do it. The resentment in her heart began to simmer beneath her cool, aloof demeanor and the dark-haired beauty remained devoid of emotion, choosing to stare past her mother to the couch in the living room. She was rescued from this uncomfortable reunion by Karen, who rushed down the steps and smiled at her big sister. In moments, the sisters were embracing and Bette took the opportunity to slip away and shut and lock the front door before easing up the stairs.

      Have just caught up with reading all of this story. And ‘WOW!’ Sheer pleasure.
      The emotions are so honest and real. Your fantastic style and prose just envelops me. Even in this time of despair the love and adoration between Bette and Tina is astounding. This is due to your talent.
      Thank you for sharing it with me.
      It is a genuine masterpiece.
      I hope that Bette, with Tina’s assistance, finds some resolution with her mother. This is probably Bette’s biggest flaw; the inability to share her raw emotions with another. This is an abandonment issue but Tina will support her through hopefully to accept what and why her mother did this.
      Awaiting your next installment as each one puts a warm glow around by heart and a grin on my face.

    27. Fancey Bette’s mum walking in like that and acting like nothing ever happened, what’s with that?!?!?!?! Awww Bette and Tina are just so right for eachother they can both bring one another back up when they need it! Great story MTS PLEASE keep it up!!!!!!!!!!

I do miss the frequent postings but when you hit us with phrases like, “…but she’d seen the shattered remnants of her actions” I can well appreciate the time taken to carve out another chapter from that crafty mind of yours. I was never a big Tina fan but, after this chapter I am awed by her. Her ability to take Bette away from the pain, allbeit temporarily, was exactly what was required. The idea of them in the future as the distraction was excellent, as it gives Bette a feeling of belonging, acceptance and being cared for by another when those very things have been challenged by her mom’s sudden re-appearance. Post soon MTS!
