Do you have a girlfriend?, asked Bette.

I did. We are going through some things right now so we really arent together., said Karen, a flash of hurt flickering in her soft blue eyes.

Janice rolled her eyes at her own failings and threw up her hands. I have to ask someone else how to handle my own daughter. What the ***** have I done with my life?

Dont think of it like that. Bettes my best friend. We just reallyunderstand each other is all. Just give it some time. She really wants you around and in her life. Shes just hurt and still angry right now.

Janice smiled weakly, I hope youre right. Youre wise beyond your years, Tina.

Tina smiled in return, Well, I think Im gonna go find Bette.

Janice nodded. Yeah, thats a good idea. Thank you for taking care of my little girl. With all the ***** weve put her through, she needs a friend like you.

Tina just smiled again before heading off to find her soul mate.

As she departed, Janice watched her blond hair bounce in the sunshine her eyes focused on Tinas red blouse. Janice wondered just how things had changed so dramatically in only a few moments and found that the solution to mending this fractured relationship was beyond that which her mind could comprehend.

When Tina finally located her girlfriend, Bette was in the guest room, moving at warp-speed, throwing her belongings into her rolling upright as quickly as she could.

Bette? What are you doing?, she asked.

Bette didnt even look up as answered, her curls flying as she moved. Im packing.

Now Tina was getting upset. Bette had totally run out on her and was in the midst of making a speedy getaway.

With a hand planted angrily on her right hip, her brow knitted she spat out, What the *****, Bette? You were just gonna leave me behind?

Still holding on to the shirt in her hand, Bette looked up into her girlfriends eyes and stared at her in disbelief.

    1. Although I have read every word of your stories, often late into the night I have never commented. Now that I realize how important the comments are when writing in a bit of a vacuum I will not continue that practive. I love this story. It is fresh, and energetic and the setting makes them so youg and innocent..their whole lives ahead of them and possible with eachother.
Can’t wait for a little B&T lovin unleass of course Melving catches you which I think might be where we are going. Oh the drama!!!

    2. MTS,
Brilliant yet again. You always put a great big grin on my face just by posting a new chapter so imagine my delight when it is as superb as this.
Please keep up the excellent work and give us this insight into Bette and Tina and their relationship.

    3. Hey! I just got all caught up and as I expected everything was just perfect! I hope they’ll finally get a chance to de-compress and just be together without interuption. It’ll be interesting though, to see how things work out between Bette and her mom. I was wondering if Bette would begin to realize that by not being completely honest with Janice about her relationship w/Tina she, too, is not being truthful…then maybe she’ll be able to understand and forgive her mother’s actions. Often it’s easy to overlook our own faults and fears when our focus is on everyone else’s screw-ups. Thank you!!!

    4. what a way to end my sunday. this story is so great. i love the evolution of their relaitonship. i enjoyed how you had karen in there. something for them to learn. great as usual. can’t wait for the next one, soon please.

    5. Ok, I’m a little anxious here!! Although, it’s good Bette and Tina will have some “alone” time, but I’m nervous that Melvin’s going to come home from golf sooner than Bette’s thinking!!!
