The Roommates – 2nd Dimension: Chapter 39

“You know, Grandpa, I have a feeling you’d understand me. That you’d love me in spite of how I feel and howhow I love. It’s been so hard for me, Grandpa. This past year has been crazy. It’s really made me realize how much I miss Mom. I gotta tell you. I’m mad at her. She abandoned all of us and that’s not right. She’s not even here to say goodbye to you. What kind of daughter doesn’t say goodbye to her father?”, asked Bette.
She sniffled and Tina squeezed her tightly. The loving blonde could tell that Bette was getting upset and her gentle touch was calming to the woman in her arms. When she spoke next, Bette was more centered.
“I guess you don’t really want to hear that. I mean, we all know how things have been. And I guess what I’m trying to say isThank you. Thanks for always loving me and being there for me. Even when I turned away from you, you still made yourself available. You knew I needed you.”
Bette cleared her throat and squeezed Robert’s limp hand.
“Well.I guess this is it, huh? I won’t say ‘goodbye’. I’ll just say..’See you later’. So, see you later Grandpa. I love you.”, she said, before bending down and placing a kiss on his forehead.

“Well ladies, pick out some music to keep this ride interesting. Tina, what kind of music do you like?”, asked Kit.
Tina smiled and leaned up, resting her arms on the back of either seat, her head popping up between the Porter women. “I uh.I really like that ‘Love Come Down’ song. Do you have any N2Soul?”
Kit chuckled. “Girl, you really know the way to my heart. Bette, this girl is a keeper.”
Bette smiled, “I know she is.”
Kit started the engine and Bette found her sister’s last CD. The three of them waved to Deborah and Janice as the cars slowly pulled away from the curb and in moments, Bette’s mother and grandmother were miniatures in the rear view mirror.

Dun,Dun,Dun, I think the shit is about to hit the fan. That is what grandpa was trying to warn Bette about. I will bet a million, no make that a billion dollars that someones parents are about to find out about their little girls sexuality in the next few chapters.
