    The Roommates – 2nd Dimension: Chapter 49

If you looked harder, you could see that the laughter went dead in Tina’s amber orbs. The humor barely scratched her surface and it most definitely did not stir her young soul. If you got close up and squinted tightly, you might see the faint worry lines in Dana’s forehead and the dark circles under her eyes. Under close observation, you’d notice that it didn’t take long for their laughter to fade and the tension to set in to the posture of these two friends. You’d notice that once the jovialness floated away, a dark cloud seemed to move through Tina and settle on her spirit.

The friends sighed in union and Dana reached for her drink.

    “Dana?”, asked Tina.

    “Hmmm?”

    “You think Bette’s okay?”

Dana smiled softly at her friend before returning her gaze to the crowd around them. “Bette is super strong. I’m sure she’s fine. She’s a fighter.”

“Yeah, that’s true. She’s definitely a fighter. I don’t know….I just have this feeling that something’s wrong. I’m kinda worried about her.”

“Don’t worry. This is Bette Porter we’re talking about.”

Tina shrugged off her fears and smiled. “I’m sure you’re right.”

A feeling of gratitude rolled through the young blonde. She’d accompanied Dana to the mall at the tennis player’s insistence.  Her original plan was to hang around the dorm room and sulk about her dismissal from the tutoring program until Bette returned from Melvin’s impromptu dinner invitation. Though they hadn’t discussed it, Tina knew that Dana was looking out for her; preventing her from wallowing in the depression of her current circumstances. She was grateful for the distraction and despite the worries about Bette and her dinner date with Damon & Melvin, she was actually enjoying herself.

    “Tina?” asked Dana.

Both women were focused on the crowd, absently watching other shoppers come and go as they nibbled at their pizza slices.

    “Yeah?”, Tina replied.

“Do you think you and Bette will stay together?”, asked Dana.

Tina stared curiously at her friend until their eyes met. “What do you mean?”

“I mean, do you see yourself living your life with her. Are you guys gonna get married and have kids and all that?”.

    1. Well, well, well, loomwho is finally back in the world of fan fic. You’ve been missed morethansatisfied! I’m so happy that you’ve picked up this great story once again. Unfortunately for Bette she has Melvin’s stubborn streak and i don’t think either of them are at a point where they are going to change the others mind. I know Bette was getting annoyed at the way her father was treating Damon but she really needed to think this one through better. i mean she is completely dependent (financially anyway) on Melvin so ticking him off in this manner is going to have some serious repercussions for Ms. Porter. i just hope she doesn’t have to leave school, Tina and all her friends. Thansk for the great chapter.

    2. hmmm… 6 months. You’re almost as lazy as I am. =P I think Bette is doing the right thing. If she wants to do it after everyone’s cooled down, maybe Melvin would choose to ignore it and pretend nothing happened. Bette’s so alike him. Their confrontation must be very violent, but may reach an amazing end. I think Melvin really likes Bette could be as tough as him somehow, hoho. That’s my theory. Fingers crossed for our young girls.

I hope that Bette will begin to understand that we can not always make others believe that it is okay to love another woman. Both Bette and Tina have a lot of work ahead of them but they can overcome together. I hope that you get to post soon.
