    Bette deals with the outcome of her startling revelations….

     

    Dana leaned forward and rested her elbows on the table, holding her head in her hands. “Tina, my love life bites major ass. Alice has been acting all weird and strange since we had that fight last week. And the girl I met, Lara, she’s all into her girlfriend. I mean, we talk and we’re gonna get together and hang out. But, what am I gonna do? It’s gonna be the three of us. Me, Lara, and her girlfriend. I’ll be the third wheel again. Just like I am with you and Bette.”

     

    Tina shook her head. “Dana. You are not the third wheel. We love hanging out with you. We wouldn’t have it any other way.”

     

    Dana smiled and her voice came out softer than it had been before. “You said ‘we’. It’s really so adorable. Everything is ‘we’. That’s really sweet, Tina.”

     

    Blonde tresses slipped down and half-covered a self-conscious smile. Tina pulled back her hair with her hand, a slight blush coloring her cheeks. “It is sweet, Dane. Let’s just hope…….let’s just hope it stays that way.”

     

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

     

    Damon knocked on Bette and Tina’s dorm room for the third time. He knew that Tina had to be out but he had to try just one more time. Silence was the only answer to his knock. With defeat weighing down his broad shoulders, Damon sighed to himself and loosened his tie as he walked away. He’d walked over to their dorm as soon as Bette had dropped him off.

     

    He was worried about her. More worried than he’d been about anyone in a long time. She really was one of his closest friends and he didn’t want to see her hurt. She didn’t deserve any more pain.

     

    Alerting Tina to the situation seemed the best thing to do. Maybe she could talk Bette off the ledge and get her to see that this wasn’t the time to take a stand.

     

    ‘There’s a time and a place for standing up for yourself. Now is just not the time. Her father is so strict. He’s never gonna let this shit go.’, Damon thought.

    4. Well,well, well, loomwho is finally back in the world of fan fic. You’ve been missed morethansatisfied! I’m so happy that you’ve picked up this great story once again. Unfortunately for Bette she has Melvin’s stubborn streak and i don’t think either of them are at a point where they are going to change the others mind. I know Bette was getting annoyed at the way her father was treating Damon but she really needed to think this one through better. i mean she is completely dependent (financially anyway) on Melvin so ticking him off in this manner is going to have some serious repercussions for Ms. Porter. i just hope she doesn’t have to leave school, Tina and all her friends. Thansk for the great chapter.

    6. hmmm… 6 months. You’re almost as lazy as I am. =P I think Bette is doing the right thing. If she wants to do it after everyone’s cooled down, maybe Melvin would choose to ignore it and pretend nothing happened. Bette’s so alike him. Their confrontation must be very violent, but may reach an amazing end. I think Melvin really likes Bette could be as tough as him somehow, hoho. That’s my theory. Fingers crossed for our young girls.

    10. I had read your story before but was just in the reading mode and not commenting. This is a heart breaking story that happens too many times every day. I hope that Bette will begin to understand that we can not always make others believe that it is okay to love another woman. Both Bette and Tina have a lot of work ahead of them but they can overcome together. I hope that you get to post soon.
