The Roommates – Fast Forward to 2019: Chapter 4

“You look fantastic. Let me walk you out, okay?” Shane replied.

Bette smiled and followed Shane from the back of the salon out through the front door. She had just hugged Shane goodbye and was turning to walk back to her sporty jag when someone ran smack into her, knocking the shampoo bottle out of her hand, sending her sprawling onto the sidewalk.

    “Fuck!” she yelled.

Shane was there in a second. She grabbed the bottle and then went to help up Bette. Everything hurt and Bette felt like a wayward turtle lying on its back.

“Watch where you’re going!” Shane yelled.

“Oh my God! I’m so sorry,” came the voice. Bette couldn’t see her, but she knew that voice. It couldn’t be. Could it? Impossible, right?

With Shane’s help, she was pulled to her feet, her eyes desperately searching for the source of the voice.

Bette’s gaze locked on wide hazel eyes. Long blonde hair was pulled back into a clip and the sun-kissed skin of her face was accented with subtle shades of lightly applied makeup. She was older and prettier, her voice just as warm and lovely as Bette had always known.

“Tina?” she asked, as she balanced herself upright, trying not to put all her weight on a left ankle that was now tender.

The woman stared into Bette’s eyes, curious as to the name she’d heard. “Tina? How did you…? No one’s called me that in years.”

Bette couldn’t look away and her eyes betrayed her, filling with water. “Oh my God. It’s you.”

Hazel eyes looked on in surprise. Shane struggled to help Bette stand upright. “It’s me? Do I know you?”

She wanted to pull Tina into her arms and hold her close. Wanted to kiss her lips and lose herself in the essence of the woman before her. But this Tina in this reality did not know her. The elation of finding Tina and the restraint of not being able to possess her forced a gentle sob from Bette’s lips.

Shane and the stranger both stared at Bette, thinking the sob and the tears were due to an injury sustained in the fall. “Oh my God. I broke you!” said the stranger.

    1. Thanks for the Post.

Of course I’ll be sticking with you and this new story! However, do still feel in need of some sort of closure on the old one :-)

Looking forward to more on this, please.

    2. Christina Kenard is now Christina Anderson – Chris Anderson. Wonder if that is a married name? She’s 34 years old also. And Bette is a married woman as well….Huummm.. Now the story is taking shape and direction….wonderful.

    3. Hi MTS:

Well, Bette found Tina, but this Tina is already married, right?

Because in your first story, “the roommates” Tina has a boyfriend Eric Anderson, and if she and Bette never met before, that means that she continued her relationship with Eric.

I remember Eric’s last name was Anderson, and now Chris Anderson means that she married Eric.

But apparently Tina always had some feeling for women, because in your first story, in their first encounters, young Tina was almost hitting on young Bette; even when she had a boyfriend.

And now again, she feels something that draws toward Bette Porter and she wants to be friends.

So, Tina was always kind of attracted by women but it didn’t awake until she met Bette in the other dimension, and here I think it’s awaking, right?

Okay, I’m ready for the ride.

Wonderful story and excellent chapter, pps.
