    “Bette?” she asked. Bette’s voice was soft and dreamy. “Hi, Tina.” Tina found her tone was gentle and flirty. She smiled even though no one could see her. “You called.” “I told you I would.” “You are a woman of your word.” Bette replied, “You better believe it.” Tina swallowed over the lump in her

    “Bette?” she asked.

    Bette’s voice was soft and dreamy. “Hi, Tina.”

    Tina found her tone was gentle and flirty. She smiled even though no one could see her. “You called.”

    “I told you I would.”

    “You are a woman of your word.”

    Bette replied, “You better believe it.”

    Tina swallowed over the lump in her throat. “How is your ankle? Did I break you?”

    “You’d never break me, T. I trust you.”

    The blonde felt warm and tingly. She had to work for her voice to appear. “You just met me. How can you trust me?”

    Bette paused before she answered. “Tina, I’m a good judge of character.”

    The way her name floated from Bette’s lips was magical. It somehow traversed the wireless network and slid around her, putting her at ease, releasing the tension in her neck, removing any nervousness she felt. She was comfortable at once and though she thought this should scare her, it didn’t.

    “Why do you call me Tina?” she asked.

    Bette paused again. “Can I tell you something?”

    “Yes. You can tell me anything.”

    “One day, I will tell you why I call you Tina. But right now, it’s too soon. I promise you I’m not some crazy stalker,” said Bette.

    “Is that what you wanted to tell me?”

    “No.”

    “Bette, what did you want to tell me?”

    “I want to see you, Tina.”

    Dammit. Why is her voice driving me crazy? Tina’s voice came out soft, like a whisper. “You don’t even know me. I almost broke you.”

    “I want to see you. When can I see you?” asked Bette.

    “What if you don’t like being around me?” asked Tina.

    “T?”

    Tina felt her arousal growing and crossed her legs. Her right was crossed over her left and her foot bounced. She was giddy, bubbling with excitement at the sound of this woman’s voice. What’s happening to me? she wondered.

    “Yes?”

    “When can I see you?”

    “Breakfast. Let’s meet for breakfast,” said Tina.

    “What time?” asked Bette.

    “Nine?”

    “No. That’s too late,” Bette replied.

    Tina blushed. “I’m sorry. How’s 8?”

    2. Great to get to know this Tina. Learing about her life makes me think that Bette can not only improve the situation of “Bette 2019” but of “Tina 2019” as well.
      I love that Tina already feels some kind of connection to Bette.

      Looking forward to their breakfast meeting :-)

    3. This 2019 update to RoomMates has been an intriguing saga for sure. I’m trying to fill in the blanks and have come to the conclusion that the young Tina was not able to bring herself to tell her parents about Bette and their relationship. So her life continued along the expected path of hetero script. Right????????. and so did Bette’s as she chose Sidney to marry.

      Cant figure out in my tale what happened to Eric though????. In my story he had to have made a play for Tina by threatening to “out” her to her parents but then ????? this is where my 2005 version falls apart. Auh well, that’s why U’re the Author ????and me the neurotic reader ????????????

Uhmm it seem Tina and Henry are playing some kind of charades with the family.. they all seem to be wearing a mask at this party… did get to meet sissy but she must be a pill or knows Tina’s secrets. Great phone call giving Tina a bit of a slow burn, my favorite way to have her in. Lol.. thank you

    5. In 2019, Bette and Tina meet for the first time when they bump into each other on the street. This is not a continuation of 2005 but a completely new reality. Bette has transferred from the 2005 reality to the 2019 reality with the memories of 2005. Its going to make Bette look like a lunatic if she explains how she knows Tina’s nickname or even why she is so attracted to Tina. Her best bet is to face today’s reality and figure out how to get Tina into her life. In the meantime, she is still married and so is Tina. This has become a very intriguing story.

      Good writing….can’t wait for more.
