Helena re-adjusted her stance, and tried a gentler approach. “The gallery’s lovely. It was nice to drop by … Tina, it was lovely seeing you again.” She held back any compliments she might have given her under different circumstances. As innocent as they were.
“It was nice that you could make it,” Tina said just as kindly, smiling when she felt Bette’s arm slip around her waist. But she felt nice – as though all the discomfort she thought she would have felt was gone. She didn’t really care what Helena did or what she thought, because Bette was there with her. That was all she really wanted.
“How are you doing? And Angelica – how is she?”
Tina beamed, “She’s doing so great – top of her class at school.”
“Really?” Helena asked with a smile just as sincere, allowing Bette to ease up a little on the hostility. Allowing her to see that Helena had a personality behind the veil of evil she surely possessed.
“Yeah, she’s even here, but we have to go soon, because it’s getting really late for her,” Tina chuckled, the atmosphere of the room quickly shifting.
Tina was at greater ease, and after noticing Helena’s real interest in Angelica’s well-being, Bette also decided that perhaps the past really was just the past. Perhaps Helena was simply human after all. Doesn’t mean I don’t want an excuse to throw her out of here, Bette mused with a grin, listening on as they’d moved to a more public area. She scanned the large room to find Angelica with her Aunt Victoria, each leaning on the wall, and onto each other. Bette wordlessly made her way over, entertained to see them both so exhausted.
“Hi, ladies. About ready to leave?”
“Can I stay for the whole thing?” Angelica asked, yawning as she did.
“Not such a good idea I’m afraid,” Bette chuckled, staring in Victoria’s direction, straight toward Helena. “They’re just talking about simple things,” she insisted, reassuring Tina’s sister. “It’s fine.”
“What’s fine?” Angelica interrupted, giving Bette a nice reactive smile.
“Nothing, sweetheart. Your mother’s just talking with an old friend.”
But Victoria didn’t look as calmed. Bette would have to explain later, but both of them straightened up for Angelica as she leaned in to give Bette a nice, big hug.

Poor Bette, Tina cut off her sexual inspiration ha!I seriously think it must be VERY frustrating and sad for Bette have all these sexual fantasies and desires to try new things with Tina(the woman she loves and with whom is getting married!!)and find that she is not into that or that she doesn’t like.I know not to force anyone to do what she doesn’t want but i just hope that for Bette well being (mental and sexual)Tina keep it an open mind and really try it ha! GREAT AND REALISTIC WRITING PPVS!

Thank you for the update. Great story! I love the openness and honesty that Bette and Tina share. It’s great that they don’t play the stupid games with each other. Hopefully they’ll continue down the right path with one another.

OOps! I forgot to mention that realistic conversation they had about each others sexual preferences. Like real lovers. With consideration of each other. I don’t think I’ve read such an exchange on this site in such a realistic manner not in the throes of passion. Well done and stated.
Can this story get any better than this? Beautifully told.It all seems so real not over the top but still romantic and exciting.
