With one hand smoothing down her dress, Bette smiled in the wide mirror at her best friend, Shane. She was brought back to memories of her bachelorette party with that teasing her friend had sent to her, taking a deep breath in and bringing both her hands up to the strapless top, ensuring – once again – that it would stay.
“Not used to dresses much, huh?” Shane chuckled, pouring a drink carelessly, just nearly pouring it all over the table. As aloof and indifferent as Shane seemed, she was also nervous for Bette. The wedding was a big step – the biggest change Bette would ever take on. She glanced over once more at the cream-colored dress that seemed to glow with perfection, especially with the way Bette swished and swayed. “It’s … a really nice dress. Seriously.”
Bette turned around to look at her friend knowingly. “I’m … freaking out a little bit.”
Shane immediately left her drink – every bit the caring friend. She stepped quickly over, fixing Bette’s updo instinctively. She had done her friends hair, in fact, and touching it up was a comfort to them both, the curls swept back from Bette’s face. “Hey. There’s nothing to worry about. Really. I know this is big for you – trust me, I get that. And everyone gets cold feet, anyways.”
“It’s not cold feet.”
“What is it, then?” Shane asked, finished with the hair. She hooked her thumbs into the pockets of her pants – dressed in a classic, black tux.
“I … I don’t know, I just need Tina. I’m not used to all of this … I’m not used to going through anything difficult without her.” Bette let out a breath of laughter as she swept her finger under her eyes, trying not to ruin her make up. “Stupid how much we depend on people, hey?”
Shane knew that Tina could offer Bette greater comfort, and she was actually glad by that. She’d found a girl of her own just a short while ago, and she was starting to understand the feeling. Carmen was quite clearly excited by her tux, but the woman could also calm her in nervous moments. “Hey … Why don’t I get her for you?”

Absolutely perfect.
I think that I loved the entire story b/c of the lack of hyperbole. Their story seemed so authentic and realistic. Their foibles and quirks were not glossed over but the tenderness and lust of their love was captivating and genuine. One of your very best efforts that was very appealing. Please try to continue their journey w/Angie.

That was so amazing, but I was wondering the time frame from the proposal to te wedding, I dont’t recall reading that, because at the wedding Shane is with Carmen. I love Tina and Bette’s vows,but I am so in love with Angelica’s. Just Awesome.
