The Silent Treatment
Hi , Tina’s soul said.
No response.
Hello? Tina’s soul tried again.
No response.
Tina’s shoulders drooped. Bette caught the movement out of the corner of her eye. She turned to face her. Tina finally looked up after a couple of heartbeats.
Bette smiled shyly. Tina returned with her own shy smile.
One heartbeat. Two heartbeats. Three heartbeats.
Tina pointed at Forgiveness and put her right hand to her chest. Bette nodded.
They stared at the painting once again.
One heartbeat. Two heartbeats. Three heartbeats.
Tina raised a familiar bag from The Planet. Bette assumed it was lunch. Tina cocked her head to the side asking Bette a question.
Bette nodded.
Tina smiled.
Tina pointed towards Bette’s office. Bette nodded again. Bette held up five fingers. Tina assumed that meant five minutes. She gave Bette a high five as she left. She turned around and smiled. Bette was stunned.
“Did she just high five me?” Bette whispered.
Bette watched Tina disappear down the hall.
“Hey, James,” Tina said with a smile.
“Hi, Tina.”
“How has she been today?”
James shrugged. That was everything Tina needed to know. She touched James on the arm.
“Thank you for being here for her. I know it hasn’t been easy these last few months.”
James nodded.
“We are doing our best to figure this whole thing out.”
James looked around to make sure Bette wasn’t near. He leaned in to Tina.
“She needs you. Please figure out a way to make it work. Your “best” needs to be better.”
James put air quotes around the word best as he pleaded with his eyes.
Tina nodded.
By the time Bette entered her office, Tina had made Bette a plate and was sitting in her chair at her desk waiting. Tina was staring out the window with her feet propped up. Bette smiled despite herself. Tina’s creamy legs on Bette’s desk flooded her memories of the many times Bette made Tina cum in that very chair and the many times Tina made her cum everywhere in every position. The chair, the desk, the floor, the couch, the coffee table, against the door, against the wall, against the windows. Standing up, sitting down, laying down, 69, draped over the couch.
Bette smirked.
“Baby, what are you doing?”

Of course, I loved the chapter but these two need to stop with the assuming and second guessing. I’m usually all over Alice for sticking her nose in where it doesn’t belong, but I am with her on this one. I know we can’t just snap our fingers and voila they are magically back together. They need to work at it and hard, through all the hurt feelings and anger. They need to get their stuff together and shit or get off the pot. Post soon my friend.
Totally agree with you!
Yes. I think they are getting there. But we shall see. It’s going to be an emotional journey for sure.
