As it turned out, Tina had been extremely busy with work and the couple didn’t have as much quality time together this week as they normally would. That meant that Bette’s calculation on their own Guinness World Record was in jeopardy of not fulfilling its objective – That they would be the most kissed couple in the world.
On Sunday, Tina had pointed out that the brunette had forgotten to add into the calculation the age difference with the guy who was making the proclamation of being the most prolific world kisser.
I mean, could you imagine – The Bette Porter – Yale grad, Business owner, gallerist former Dean – not processing EVERY possibility to get to the absolute grand number.
Impossible!!!!!
Like that was ever a real likelihood.
Be real!!!!
So Mrs. Creative Kennard Porter used her superior skills this week to wonder if there was another way to cement their position as the world’s all-time kissing couple.
How could she ever let a MAN hold that record??? Bette thought.
Like that would ever happen.
Not in her lifetime she swore.
“You don’t have a chance pal.” The former Dean promised.
So this little development had been on Bette’s mind frequently this week. She thought long and hard as to how they could make up valuable kissing opportunities as to not short change their desired results.
One idea after another came and went without any good or plausible solution. Bette was growing frustrated as she was never, ever one to give into defeat.
Uh, hell no, she pushed herself for an idea.
Then Angie had returned home from school on Wednesday night with a homework assignment. Since Bette was now the designated caretaker as she did most of her acquisition work from home, she was the in charge Mom when it came to homework assignments.
It seemed that Angie’s teacher had a family themed project – her students had to write a short one page story on a special event in their parent’s life – something that had changed their lives.
Objective was to show the students that seemingly unimportant events can turn into important events also.
It only had to be a few sentences long as Angie was still in grade school, but their inquisitive daughter wanted something unusual for her story.

Thanks for your thoughts, my area remains at Level 3 but as we have been at this Level for some considerable time it’s not easy. I will remain in sole isolation now until I can get the Vaccine which, I hope, may be early in the New Year.
Hope you will get the vaccine ASAP!
Facetime & zoom calls make the isolation less daunting.

I have been remiss not to comment on this chapter. Such a different take on their mutual affection. Writing short stories can be just as challenging as writing 19 page chapters so kudos to you for posting these!

It certainly is a challenge to keep on top of all the new stories & then find time to write our own stories & chapters as well.
I have enjoyed writing these shorties – sure it can be challenging to get everything in that 2 or 2 chapters, but the long term multiple stress isn’t there.
