The Triangle of Love – Chapter 10

    Dana: Hey, Shane?

    Shane: Yeah?

Dana: Did you tell Kit yet?

Shane: Not yet, she’s got enough on her plate with this place. I figured Bette would tell her at some point.

    Dana: Okay. You nearly done?

    Shane: Almost.

Ten minutes later, they were on their way to the hospital. They walked up to reception and asked for Alice. They were told to wait in the waiting room until Dr. Edwards came to get them. This worried them. It was only 8:30am, but they didn’t understand what they had to wait for. 20 minutes later, Dr. Edwards came into the waiting room and walked up to Dana and Shane. Both girls immediately stood up when they saw him.

    Shane: Is Alice okay?

Dana: Why did we have to wait for you?

Dr. Edwards: Alice is fine. We wanted to make sure she was stable and awake before any visitors came in.

Dana: Thank God, can we see her now?

Dr. Edwards: Yes. I will tell you  though, we ran some tests last night on Alice but we couldn’t find anything that could cause her to lose her memory. We believe it is just due to shock. Hopefully, with her friends and family by her side, she will begin to remember some things, as she will need to give a statement to the police to prove she was the only one involved in the accident. Come on, I’ll take you to her.

Both girls nodded and Shane gave Dana an ‘I told you so’ look. Dana just shrugged and they followed Dr. Edwards. When they got to Alice’s room, they looked through the window to see Alice watching TV. They couldn’t see what she was watching, but Alice looked extremely focussed on the screen. She looked better than she did the previous day, however the bandages that were now around her head for the cuts and the casts on both legs made her look like an invalid, which right now, she basically was. As for her broken ribs, there was nothing they could do. They just had to heal on their own. Shane and Dana walked into the room, but Alice never even saw them. They sat on opposite sides of Alice, Dana on the right, and Shane on the left. Finally, Alice looked at them both, before speaking, her voice pretty much back to normal.
