The Triangle of Love – Chapter 20

Alice chuckled at Danas attempt to make her feel better.

Alice: Are you sure? I could bear to lose you.

Dana: You’ll never need to. I’m going nowhere.

    Alice: I love you.

Dana: I love you too. Do you want some breakfast?

Alice: Erm… Maybe later. We could get something on the way to the hospital. I’m not hungry right now.

    Dana: Yeah, me neither. Coffee?

    Alice: That would be nice.

Dana kissed Alice on the cheek before standing up and walking to the kitchen, leaving Alice sat on her bed resting against the headboard. Dana made the coffee and went back to Alice.

    Dana: There you go, baby.

Alice: Dane, come sit with me.

Dana put their coffee on the bedside table and sat beside Alice on the bed. She wrapped her arm around Alice’s shoulder and let Alice rest her head on her shoulder.

Alice: Dane, do you think we could start and do the routine today?

Dana: Don’t you think it’s a little early?

Alice: I don’t know. I mean, I want to get back on my feet as soon as possible.

Dana: I know, and I’ll be here to support you all the way. I just mean, you’re only having your pots off today. It might be too soon.

Alice: Yeah, maybe you’re right. I just hate not being able to do anything for myself.

Dana: Yeah I know. You’ll be back on your feet in no time. And, if you’re so determined to do this, how about tomorrow? We could ask Dr. Edwards what he thinks. If he approves, we can start tomorrow.

Alice: Sounds like a plan. Dane?

    Dana: Yeah?

    Alice: Thank you, for everything.

Dana: You have nothing to thank me for. I would be here no matter what.

    Alice: And I’m sorry.

    Dana: What for?

Alice: The hospital the first time around. I was so scared from your confession that I figured it would be easier to block you out. I didn’t want to, but it was easier, until Shane talked some sense into me.

Dana: Al, I sprung it on you at a stupid time. And I know why you did it, and I understand. But, I want you to know I would still be here, even if you did turn me down.
