The Triangle of Love – Chapter 8

    Alice: Wait, what?

Dana: The butterflies, Al. I got them. When you put your head on my shoulder, I got them. When you put your arm on my stomach, I got them even more and I became that nervous that I had to get up.

Alice: You’re fucking with me Dana. No, you don’t love me.

Alice was having a hard time hearing this. All her life, she’d never once been told she was loved. Not like this. Her mother was always off with any guy she could get her hands on, and her father died when she was 2. She’d never been in a long term relationship, or even in a relationship. She spent her childhood hanging out with the wrong people, shoplifting, taking drugs and drinking alcohol. At one point, she was even homeless. It was then when she discovered her love for writing. So now, hearing her best friend tell her she loved her seemed unrealistic to her. Dana didn’t know about her past, she didn’t like talking about it, but if Dana was telling the truth right now, she was pretty sure she would change her mind once she found out about what Alice was like back then. She suddenly felt Dana’s hands in hers, and when she opened her eyes, she saw Dana sat inched away from her.

Dana: Alice, I’m serious. I never felt this way about Lara. I didn’t get the butterflies like this. Do you know how hard this is for me? I don’t talk about my feelings to anyone but you, so when my feelings are for you, how do I explain that?

Alice: Dana, you can’t love me. No one does. Not like that. You’re my friend. That’s all. You’re just confused.

Dana: You’re not listening to me. I LOVE YOU. I think I always have.

Alice got up from the couch with tears in her eyes. She turned to look at Dana, seeing nothing but honesty in her eyes, but this was too hard for Alice. she couldn’t hear this. She just had to leave. She picked her keys and phone up and made her way to the door, before she heard Danas voice.

Dana: Alice, where are you going?

    Alice: I’m going home.

    1. Hi Amber:

Very nice chapter, but you leave me in a cliffhanger, what will happen with Alice, is she wounded? what is Dana going to do? Well, hopefully, you will post soon. Thanks
