The Trouble With Love Chapter Thirty Six

“I know that we both keep saying it but thank you, everything that you’ve done and said, it’s meant so much.” said Bette.

“And I know I keep saying but really, it’s been my pleasure.”

“Thanks Kate, and take care of yourself.” said Tina.

“Bye Tina.” replied Kate, leaning over to hug Tina and Bette in turn and then turning to get in the car to take her home.

“What do you think she meant by that?” asked Bette as they both got into their car.

“I think she meant that as bad as we’ve been at talking to each other we’ve been even worse at listening.”

“Don’t you just hate it when she’s right.”

“Especially as she right all of the time.” laughed Tina.

“Are you OK?” asked Bette, suddenly realising that they weren’t very far from home.

    “A little nervous, but happy.”

    “That’s good T.”

They spent the rest of the journey in companionable silence but Bette made sure that she held Tina’s hand all the way. Just to make sure that she knew that Bette was there for her, very step of the way. Occasionally Tina would squeeze Bette’s hand, letting her know that the gesture was appreciated.

When they pulled up outside the house Tina looked out, seeing the house that she never thought that she would live in again. Now she was about to take her first steps inside that house in months. Bette got out and arranged their luggage with the driver, she then went around and opened the door for Tina, offering her hand as Tina got out.

“Thank you.” Tina whispered, close to Bette’s ear.

Bette smiled in reply and continued to hold Tina’s hand as they picked up their luggage and started to walk towards their front door. As they did Tina noticed Shane walking along the street. She pulled back on Bette’s hand to indicate that she wanted to stop.

    “What’s wrong?” asked Bette.

“Nothing, but I can see Shane. I’m sorry babe, but I just want to go over and say hello. Is that OK?”

“Of course. I’ll take our bags in, don’t be long though.” replied Bette, kissing Tina before turning back towards the door.

    “Shane.” called out Tina.

“Tina, how are you?” replied Shane, giving Tina a warm hug.

Thank you so much for realistically bringing them back together in this gentle and loving manner. Kate has been a real star and confindante to both parties.
