    Thinking Back. Chapter 6

“I think that maybe you should stay around here for tonight, Tina.”

    “And why is that?”

At this time, the officer spoke up, “Eric has escaped from the detention center and his whereabouts are unknown, mam.”

    “And…..” said Tina……

“And well, he left a note behind that he was going to find you and finish what he started….”

At this time, sheer terror entered my mind. “Officer, how is Tina going to be protected if she stays here? Eric knows where this place is, he will surely find her.”

“I don’t know ma’am….we were just dispatched here to let the family know of the situation and to be on the lookout…” said the officer……..

“Well, there is no way in hell that she is staying here….he knows this neighborhood like the back of his hand, and I will not leave Tina in this danger. My office would not put up with that…..”

“And what would your office have to do with this?” the officer asked me…..At this time, I was about to lose it…. “I’ll tell you what my office has to do with this. My name is Bette Porter, the solicitor’s general….”

“Ma’am…” said the officer as he pulled me aside, “you do know that it is against all policies for you to be involved personally with one of your clients don’t you?”

“I know the damn laws thank you…..and I also know that this girl is in danger. He has already beaten her so bad that she has temporary amnesia…. What are you guys doing hanging around here, you should be out looking for him….and as far as that goes, is there anyone on the force that has been put in place here at the house? There needs to be constant law enforcement around this house…BUT, since there is not, I am taking her with me.”

“And where will you go?” asked Mr. Kennard

“We will definitely let you know. But, Mr. Kennard, I cant stand idly by and watch her get hurt again….”

“I trust you Bette, but you will keep me informed wont you?”

“Of course….” I answered with a smile and a brush of his arm with my hand……

“Bette….” started one of the officers…….

“That…….is………Miss Porter to you……..” is said as I looked at his nametag…… “Mr. Harrison.”

    1. Thank you for the update. I think Bette should have stayed at least at her house with an armed policeman. What if Eric followed them up the coast? No one nearby knows what’s going on. I hope her and Tina get a chance to get closer though. That police officer was out of line…Bette can still be considered helping Tina remember and get on her feet (that’s what her office does right…she could have been doing a followup on her client) The officer acted like they were having a romantic interlude right in front of him. Had Bette been a man…he probably wouldn’t have warned her like that.

    2. Tina is extremely lucky to have some one like Bette look after her. Eric is an evil person and needs to be stopped. It would be nice for Tina to get her memories back and to put Eric where he belongs, in jail/prison.

    3. Wow…wow…WOW! Can’t wait to see the next post! The police officer was reacting too strongly, yet Bette is also flirting with danger based on her feelings for Tina and the situation of an angry boyfriend! Can’t wait to see how you sort this out for us!
