    Thinking Back. Chapter 6

“Well, Miss Porter, by law, I have to let the detectives know who Tina is with….and it isn’t going to look good……..you could lose your position ……”

“Fuck the position if it means keeping Tina alive and out of danger…..” I said as I turned to Tina. “Go ahead and get whatever you need for a few nights away Tina, I don’t want you in this town until he is behind bars again……” Tina nodded a yes to me, and turned to go get her things…… “Don’t forget the picture books…” I said as she walked away…..

“I wont……”she said as she turned back to look at me…….

“Miss Porter, I would advise against this…..” said the officer…….

“I don’t take advice very easily, so just back off….I am doing what I think is right…..Hell, what I know is right……and I will not explain myself any further…….”

A few minutes later, Tina arrives in the living room with a suitcase, and the picture books….

I look at her and smile…..as I leaned to grab the suitcase from her hand…… “allow me…” I say…….

Ten minutes later, we were driving up the coast……..

“Where will we go?” Tina asked……..

“I have a condo about an hour away……I’ve been meaning to get up there for some rest lately, but just haven’t made it…….I think now is the time……..what do you think?” I asked.

“I…..is……..is he going to hurt me again?” ..I could hear the cracking in her voice…..we were already half way there, so I pulled over onto the side of the road….. “I don’t want him to hurt me again, Bette…”

I stopped the car and got out…….and went around to her side…….I opened the door, and sat on the side (my ass half off and half on the car)……. I took her hand into mine, as I always did when I wanted to get my point across, and what I had thought was just craziness, happened again……it felt like electricity piercing my body…….. And I began to speak….. “Tina, I am taking you so far away from that city that he will never find you…..I will not……..EVER…….let him get to you……we can stay at the condo for as long as we want to…..it is mine……there is no time limit……”

    1. Thank you for the update. I think Bette should have stayed at least at her house with an armed policeman. What if Eric followed them up the coast? No one nearby knows what’s going on. I hope her and Tina get a chance to get closer though. That police officer was out of line…Bette can still be considered helping Tina remember and get on her feet (that’s what her office does right…she could have been doing a followup on her client) The officer acted like they were having a romantic interlude right in front of him. Had Bette been a man…he probably wouldn’t have warned her like that.

    2. Tina is extremely lucky to have some one like Bette look after her. Eric is an evil person and needs to be stopped. It would be nice for Tina to get her memories back and to put Eric where he belongs, in jail/prison.

    3. Wow…wow…WOW! Can’t wait to see the next post! The police officer was reacting too strongly, yet Bette is also flirting with danger based on her feelings for Tina and the situation of an angry boyfriend! Can’t wait to see how you sort this out for us!
