    Thinking Back. Chapter 6

“but what if he finds me Bette? What if he finds……” I took her into my arms, and pulled her close to me.. “Shhhh….” I said…….. “Shhhhh……he will never find you……I promise……noone knows about this place but me and my sister…..”

I held her for what seemed like only a few seconds before she pulled back…. “Can we….can we go now?” she asked……

“Sure….” I said…….. Before I got back into my seat, and began to drive again…….. “Why don’t you lean your seat back and take a nap? I can put some easy music on, and I’ll wake you when we get there? Ok?”

“Ok.” she answered as she let the seat back……I put some music on, and before I knew it, she was out…..

    **************************************************************************************

    AN HOUR LATER:

I don’t want to wake her, she is sleeping sooo soundly, but I had to get us out of the cool breeze…. “Tina.” I whisper as I shake her a little…… “Tina, wake up. We are here…..come on babe….lets get you inside and in bed…..”

“mmmm” I heard her moan in her sleep………

    “Um…..” I stuttered…… “Into the spare bedroom.” I said…..

She slowly awoke, and sat up in the seat…… “We are here? Why didn’t you wake me?”

“I…..I …….tried…….come on, I will show you where the spare bedroom is. We can get some sleep, and talk tomorrow….” I said as I grabbed her things and got out of the car……walking up the steps to the front door……

“Wow, this is beautiful” I heard her say behind me…….

    “Thank you..”

We walk inside and I go straight for the spare bedroom……. “You can sleep here….let me get you settled in so that you can get some rest.……” I say……..

“Where…….where will you sleep?” Tina asked……..

“I’ll be right down the hall……second door on the left…..”

“I……Bette……Can I sleep in there with you? Please? I don’t want to be alone…….I am scared…..”

THE BOMB JUST SLAPPED ME……..I cannot do this…….I don’t know that I can keep my freakin hands off of her….dangerous, dangerous territory Porter…..not a good idea……talk your way out of this one…….

“I took a huge step by taking you in for a few days, I really don’t think that is a good idea…..”

    1. Thank you for the update. I think Bette should have stayed at least at her house with an armed policeman. What if Eric followed them up the coast? No one nearby knows what’s going on. I hope her and Tina get a chance to get closer though. That police officer was out of line…Bette can still be considered helping Tina remember and get on her feet (that’s what her office does right…she could have been doing a followup on her client) The officer acted like they were having a romantic interlude right in front of him. Had Bette been a man…he probably wouldn’t have warned her like that.

    2. Tina is extremely lucky to have some one like Bette look after her. Eric is an evil person and needs to be stopped. It would be nice for Tina to get her memories back and to put Eric where he belongs, in jail/prison.

    3. Wow…wow…WOW! Can’t wait to see the next post! The police officer was reacting too strongly, yet Bette is also flirting with danger based on her feelings for Tina and the situation of an angry boyfriend! Can’t wait to see how you sort this out for us!
