Turn About Is Fair Play – CH69
Bette was embarrassed and laughed it off. Yeah, I guess youre right.
Then dont worry about it, Im sure between the three of you, you can work out whos bringing whom, fax me the list ASAP, and Ill see you soon.
Okay and thanks again for everything.
Bette explained to James that there was enough room for additional names and all she needed to do was call Kit and arrange it. The call was made, the fax was everything was taken care of and everyone was ready for the biggest night of the year so far. Well, one that theyd all enjoy anyway.
Everyone was dressed in their finest and sexiest outfits. The stretch Hummer limo picked everyone up at their respective homes and they were off to The Staples Center. Paparazzi were everywhere when they arrived, and they we caught in the flashlights as if they were celebrities. They were in the middle of The Whos Who of LAs and each person was filled with a mix of excitement and trepidation. When the reached the entrance, they were asked to hand over their invitations, which were scanned for the invisible hologram that was embedded into it to prevent the uninvited from crashing the party. Their IDs were also matched to their names for their wristbands. Yes, it was that serious and that kind of party; truly and totally exclusive. Once inside, the gang was mystified by the appearance and Bette was awestruck at the artwork, the ice sculptures, and all the attention that was put into the party. The graphic art company that Rayne mentioned in one of their meetings pulled off quite a feat with the visual effects, DIA Entertainment had the music pumping and the crowd moving as soon as they hit the floor, and there were caterers that would make Wolfgang Puck swoon. It was definitely going to be a night to remember and after everyone recovered from their shock, they began to mingle, eat, and drink.
Rayne was looking stunning in a Roberto Cavalli off-white perfectly fitted, gold pinstriped pantsuit with a very low cut gold halter top, and she spun the heads of men and woman alike when she walked past; including Bette. Valet could have parked a car in the gape of Bettes open-mouthed stare. She tried to compose herself as Rayne approached with a tall and handsome, black and Asian mixed man. She didnt want to look like a fool in front of him, so she downed the remainder of her champagne and prepared herself.
