Turn About Is Fair Play – CH69
Bette Ported, Id like you to meet Tony, aka DJ Redline. Hes the closest thing Ill ever have a brother. Tony, this is Bette Porter, the woman Id spoken about, Rayne introduced the two.
Such a pleasure to meet you, Bette extended her hand. You have an extraordinary sister Tony, Bette complimented as she tried to control her stares.
Nice to meet you two, now I have to go check on some things. Later Rayne.
So, how do you like everything so far? Rayne inquired.
Ive never been to one of your functions before, but Im sure youve outdone yourself. This is incredible, Bette gushed.
Thanks, Rayne looked around the room. Yeah, this is pretty incredible and everyone seems to be having a great time, which is what I want. Once this is over, Im sure well get not only the additional support well need, but well be in high demand for so many things, Rayne explained.
Good. Im looking forward to it all.
Me too. Now come on so I can show you off, Rayne took Bettes arm and led her through the crowd.
The party went on until 5:00am and everyone was thoroughly whipped by then. Theyd eaten, drank, danced, and mingled in ways that rivaled anything theyd ever done before. Shane gathered so many numbers that she could have started her own phone book. Kit succeeded in getting offers to use her samples of her songs and work as a consultant on a music project. The rest of the gang had their share of fun too and when they all tumbled into the limo, they all fell asleep within minutes. The party was the talk of the town for only a couple of weeks, but the memories would last a lifetime.
The East Coast
A few weeks after the event, Bette and James got sick and went to NYC with Rayne. They met with the members of the board that were overseeing the after school program that Rayne needed Bette and James for. The meeting went well and they were taken to the building where the program would be housed. Bette made some suggestions on how the lighting and coloring would be changed to compliment the angle of the windows and how much natural light that comes through. Rayne took Bette and James on a tour of the city, where they ate, went to museums, clubs, and shopped. They all had a good time hanging out so the trip wouldnt be all about business. Bette and James met with some curators of small galleries that expressed a keen interest in having them, which was music to both their ears. The window of opportunity seemed to be getter bigger with an impressive view.
