The subtle competition for Raynes attention continued between Bette and James and at times it seemed for as a test for Bette to see if she was entirely over the small taste of liberty from her normal life. There were a few times where Bette contemplated her infidelity as a sign that she needed to be single again and it made her wonder if she was truly ready to recommit to Tina. But it was the memories of the last time they made love that always prevented her from yielding to temptation.
Tinas in a hot spot
Tina and Nya went back to Ma Brennens to hang out with Nya and her friends. As always, they enjoyed each others company and during the course of the night, Tina found herself getting really close to Nya. Tina had been drinking a lot and her resolve was fading fast. She was becoming overly flirtatious and each time Nya tried to ward her off, Tina still came on strong. Nya was having a hard time resisting Tinas advances and she wasnt sure how much longer shed be able to
Nya, youre, youre so pretty, Tinas alcohol-infused giggle, resonated in the VIP room.
Nya felt the warmth fill her cheeks as she tried to decide how best to take it. Thanks, was all Nya could say.
D, dont be so shy, Tina eased closer. You are. Youre so pretty. ***** too! Tinas babble of compliments continued.
Tina, maybe we should get going? Nya offered, trying hard not to taste Tinas pert lips that were dangerously close to hers. Tina shook her head no. I think we should, Nya stated again. Youre a little drunk.
Im a lotta drunk and a lotta horny too, Tina blurted out and Nya looked at her wide-eyed. Oops! Tina giggled and put her finger over her mouth.
Nya couldnt help but chuckle, but it didnt mute the voices in her head taunting her to respond to Tinas advances. Tina, I really think we should go.
Imma only go iff you come wiv me, Tina slurred and ran her hand seductively up Nyas thigh.
Okay, okay, Nya jumped up as that one stroke almost sent her over the edge. We really need to leave now, Nya pulled Tina to her feet and as she did, Tina lost her balance and fell backward onto the couch. Nya tried to pull Tina forward, but instead fell on top of her, leaving them in an extremely compromising position.
Outlets vs. Security
For hours, Bette lay awake with only the company of her unwavering thoughts. Bette lay in her plush hotel bed, looking up at the ceiling, weighing the options of her plight. She imagined herself standing at the proverbial fork in the road and having to decide which route to go. Tina had been the only woman shed been with and loved so intensely until she met Candace. Bette again wondered what Candace had that Tina lacked, or what she lacked that would cause her to stray from the security of home. She thought about the temporary gratification that compromised a permanent life. But was her life really so permanent? There was always turmoil; there was always a level of impropriety, and certainly the constant compromise. Bette wondered how people managed to last decades without cheating. She wondered if they ignored there innermost desires in favor of their partner, or did they act every so discretely on their desires? The questions were as daunting to her as the answers could be, but it didnt suppress her own contemplations.
Bette wondered if the Pandoras Box shed opened by her infidelity would ever be closed because she knew that she would give an appendage to have Tina back, but yet she found herself attracted to Rayne.
