    Turning Page

The blonde wasn’t just concerned about her feelings towards Bette; she was also wondering why such a person would even notice her. Tina felt she wasn’t anywhere near Bette’s league and on top of everything, even if she had a slim chance, to that marvelous brunette she wasn’t anything more than another straight girl. Sure, a very confused one, but a straight girl none the less.

“What am I going to do… I better get back to the house, before everyone starts wondering where the heck I have escaped to…” Tina unconsciously verbalized that last part of the confusing conversation she was having with herself inside her head.

“Tina, are you alright?” Bette asked from behind her as the blonde was about to go through the main door of the house once she had made it all the way back.

“Ahh yeah… I just needed some air, so I went for a walk” Tina shyly admitted and the brunette just looked guilty.

“I know and you seemed so troubled, so that’s why I am asking if… if you’re ok”

“Wait you followed me?” Tina asked still not sure if she should be mad or just afraid of what the agent, that particular agent, may have witnessed.

“I’m sorry but it’s my job, and I wouldn’t be doing it right if I had let you wonder around the forest alone for so long. And like we’ve said before there are plenty of ways to do surveillance without being noticed”

“So basically I have no way of ditching you” Tina said not fully aware of how that phrase may sound.

“Again, I apologize but I thought that you needed that time on your own and it wouldn’t have been fair for me to take that away from you. It’s just… you seemed so concerned that it got me wondering if everything is ok…” Bette made a pause and looked down for a second or two, before looking up again. “I’m sorry I asked, I know is none of my business nor my place and it won’t happen again” The otherwise warm and inviting brown eyes had suddenly turned into cold and deserted ones again.

“Bette I’m… I’m sorry… I know you’re just doing your job and it’s actually nice that you worry about me in other ways too” Tina started apologizing but the second she made a pause to clear her thoughts before she revealed too much, she was quickly interrupted by the agent.

“There’s no need to apologize, like I said it’s none of my business” The brunette coldly replied again.

“Oh there you are! I’ve been looking all over for you, where the hell did you go?” Alice interrupted them giving Tina no time to even try to begin explaining why she had reacted that way. It wasn’t about Bette doing her job and following her around. No. It was about the possibility of Bette noticing that something was up with her, and that that something had brown curls, a tall and slim figure, amazing brown eyes and a smile that could make a person fall in love on the spot.

“Come on! Let’s go inside… Dana and I are going to cook for all of us and we could use a couple of extra hands, plus someone who actually knows what she’s doing in the kitchen… unlike me” Alice excitedly said and pulled her friend from her arm, forcing her to enter the house and completely abandon the conversation she was attempting to have.

“You know I was in the middle of something there” Tina said annoyed as they were on their way to the huge kitchen.

“Oh I’m sorry, why didn’t you say something?” Alice sincerely apologized.

“Just… never mind, I think I fucked it up with Bette but truth be told I don’t think I’m ready to explain certain things to her just yet” Tina admitted more to herself than to Alice.

“Ouch” Alice simply said, sympathizing with her friend.

“Yeah, so let’s just cook, I really need to get my head into something less… fucking complicated”

    1. Thanks for the update. I agree with talaula with the lack of communication leading to misunderstanding. Besides the fact that Tina is so confused about herself. She keeps sending mixed messages to Bette which must be pretty frustrating. If she doesn’t get it cleared up with herself soon, she will loose any chance she might have had with Bette. But if there’s anyone who can fix this mess its Anne… have at her. Love to see where you’re going to go with the storyline.

    2. Nothing like misunderstanding and lack of communication causing great drama. Geez 😁 get it together you 2 👭 thanks Annie! Maybe Bette should have an ex enter the picture, I don’t know how that would work. 😾Just make it work it Annie 🙉
