Cabin weekend – the talk
Bette can’t say anything to this because she knows she’s in the wrong. She sits quietly as tears stream down her face. Why did she keep allowing her insecurities to cloud her judgment? Was she really out to destroy this relationship?
“I’m sorry Tee. I was wrong in accusing you. I can see how my inviting Sam would look especially knowing your feelings about us. It was hypocritical and insensitive and I’m truly sorry. You’re the only one I wanted to spend the evening with. The only reason I didn’t invite you was because I wanted to respect your request that we not see each other. I can understand now that planning an evening with the girls could be misinterpreted as if I didn’t take us seriously. You’re right I didn’t sit with my hands folded at the club. I had a few drinks and few laughs and I danced with our friends but I was thinking about you and us the entire time Tee. After I left the club I went home and tossed and turned in bed then when I couldn’t sleep I swam laps in my pool to a point of exhaustion. My mind was working overtime and I obviously came to some very wrong conclusions. I don’t mean to be judgmental. It was torture for me to think that you wouldn’t want to be with me and I guess I was trying to find reasons that … never mind. I’m so sorry Tee. Hurting you like this was the furthest thing from my heart.”
Tina couldn’t stay angry seeing Bette in such pain. Soon the anger subsided and she turned to face Bette. Bette was wrong. It was hurtful to know that any of these thoughts crossed her mind, but in her heart Tina knew that Helena could pose a threat if things had gone another way. She needed Bette to trust her but she also needed her actions to back up her words.
Tina pushed Bette down on the blanket so she’s lying on her back with Tina hovering; their faces very close. Her eyes are focused on Bette’s and there is a gleam reflected in them that Bette had not seen before.
“You need to trust that I know who I am and I know what to do with it.”

More! Loved it, thanks
BAT I think you saved your best writing for this chapter! Of course your writing is already superb!
Loved that Tina seemed to ease Bette’s insecurities and she called Bette out on inviting Sam when Bette was worried about Tina going further with Helena. Time for both to move forward trusting each other. Can’t wait for the date Tina has planned ; )
Loved it BAT!! Excellent!!
“…If they didn’t stop soon they would be making love on the grass in front of the beautiful lake.” What’s so wrong with that !
What a great chapter. You’re a talented writer. I love the way that you thoroughly develop the characters and explain their thinking and motivation.

10 Stars.
To start your Author’s Notes with ‘Sorry to disappoint’ could not be more wrong! You do not ever ‘disappoint’!
This was a superb chapter, Thank you for not having any annoyed walking off scene.
The conversation by the Lake was great especially how you interwove some of the Show’s script but with the characters dialogue exchanged. Thanks also for the lovely explanation of ‘I know what I am and what to do with it’!
Loved it BAT and cannot wait for Weekend at the Cabin part 2!
As mscully says ’10 stars’!
Loved this chapter – like SG said, the interweaving of script with your storyline was genius. Thank you for posting.
