Cabin weekend – the talk
“Why would she be concerned about me?” Bette asked feeling smaller and smaller with Tina’s telling off.
Because of your plans to go to Ladies Night at the Planet without me; she commented on all the beautiful women that were at the club the night before. I know how wild RADAR gets Bette. I’m sure you weren’t just sitting in a corner by yourself with your hands folded. I assume you had a good time and even if I don’t care for the idea of my girlfriend hitting the singles club scene and being pawed by other women when we are on a break I’m not accusing you of betraying our relationship. Maybe I should be asking what your intentions were inviting Sam to go along.”
“Why are you bringing Sam into this?” Bette was worried at the direction the whole conversation had taken.
“I asked Helena to a business lunch and you’re having doubts about my veracity when you on the other hand invites Sam to your home for dinner with your friends and then to the Planet for Ladies Night? Don’t you think that’s a bit hypocritical? You and Sam have both admitted an attraction yet you’ve become very close friends in spite of my discomfort and you expect me to trust that you would both respect the boundaries in deference to our relationship. I know that you see each other probably more often than you and I see each other being you’re practically neighbors. I trust you and I trust Sam but did you even think that asking her out might have been a little inappropriate under the circumstances? I could easily accuse you of crossing the line of friendship too.”
Tina’s face was flush with anger. This certainly was not the direction she’d expected the conversation to take either. Finally calming down after a few breaths she continued. ”Bette I asked for the separation to give us both time to think about our relationship, where we are and where we’re going. Being with other people was the furthest thing from my mind. It was agony for me not to pick up the phone and call you but it appears while I was agonizing over everything to make this work you were finding reasons for it not to. How dare you assume and accuse me of doing something that I had no intention or desire to do.”

More! Loved it, thanks
BAT I think you saved your best writing for this chapter! Of course your writing is already superb!
Loved that Tina seemed to ease Bette’s insecurities and she called Bette out on inviting Sam when Bette was worried about Tina going further with Helena. Time for both to move forward trusting each other. Can’t wait for the date Tina has planned ; )
Loved it BAT!! Excellent!!
“…If they didn’t stop soon they would be making love on the grass in front of the beautiful lake.” What’s so wrong with that !

To start your Author’s Notes with ‘Sorry to disappoint’ could not be more wrong! You do not ever ‘disappoint’!
This was a superb chapter, Thank you for not having any annoyed walking off scene.
The conversation by the Lake was great especially how you interwove some of the Show’s script but with the characters dialogue exchanged. Thanks also for the lovely explanation of ‘I know what I am and what to do with it’!
Loved it BAT and cannot wait for Weekend at the Cabin part 2!
As mscully says ’10 stars’!
Loved this chapter – like SG said, the interweaving of script with your storyline was genius. Thank you for posting.
