Tina – OK.
They exchange a peck on the lips. Bette turns to her friend again.
Bette – She is all yours!
Alice – No pillow queens for me, my friend!
Tina – Pillow what?!
The brunette rolls her eyes.
Bette – It’s a silly joke.
Alice – You will learn!
Bette turns to Tina.
Bette – Don’t learn anything from her!
She bites a croissant staring at Alice and leaves.

The Planet, afternoon: Alice is interviewing Tina and taking notes. The producer answers the questions while being distracted by the number of women in the café, how they interact with each other and how at ease they are showing affection in public. She notices with surprise that women are staring at her. Not being used to this kind of attention, she shyly smiles at some, and averts eye contact with the most daring ones.
Alice – And when will the movie come up?
Tina – Am I crazy, or women are staring at us?
Alice – Well … women are not shy around here …
She glances around.
Alice – … but I’m pretty sure that they are not staring at me!
The producer shakes her head.
Tina – I’m not one to get this kind of attention. Not even in LA, where more people know who I am.
Alice – Do they stare at you in LA?
Tina – No. I may get approached by actors sometimes … particularly the new ones looking for a part. And the usual flirting at a bar. But not like this!
Alice – Well, in the L world, you are one to get this kind of attention! And for three good reasons …
She counts them with her fingers.
Alice – You are gorgeous!
Tina chuckles.
Alice – You are fresh meat!
The producer laughs.
Tina – It makes more sense!
Alice – You came holding hands with the coveted Bette Porter!
Tina’s smile fades. She leans back on her chair and folds her arms.
Tina – Now I get it!
Alice – No worries! They are just curious about you. Most know that Bette is out of their league. She is very picky!
The producer raises her eyebrows.
Alice – She only gets beautiful, talented women … like us!
She winks. Tina laughs.
Alice – Well … she can afford to be picky! If I were that picky, I would never get laid!
Tina – Considering the number of nude paintings she has … I can only imagine if she were not picky!
Alice – She would sell more paintings for sure!
The producer shakes her head annoyed. She gazes at the crowd with a different set of eyes this time … inquisitive … and perhaps jealous.
Tina – What is a pillow queen anyway?
Alice – It’s the bottom!
Tina is distracted looking at the crowd.
Tina – Bottom of what?
Alice rolls her eyes.
Alice – Mary, Joseph and Jesus … you have a lot of lingo to learn!
Tina – Ohh … you mean sexual bottom?
Alice – Of course!
Tina – Huh! I only heard about it for gay men. I didn’t know that lesbians used it too.
She looks pensive.
Tina – And for the record … I’m not a pillow queen!
The journalist laughs.
Alice – We both know Miss Porter’s preferences!
Tina – Are you calling yourself a pillow queen?
Alice – I have my preferences too …
Tina rolls her eyes.
Tina – I can’t believe I’m discussing my girlfriend’s sexual preferences with her ex!
Alice – We are a modern family, aren’t we?
Tina – Way too modern for me! (pause) What else do I need to learn?
The journalist smiles.
Alice – How is your gaydar?
Tina – Gaydar?
Alice rolls her eyes.
Alice – Oh, Jesus … Aren’t you lucky that you have me?!

Thank you for the post!! I was impatiently waiting as always. I’d personally love to see bette surprise tina with a return visit to the set. I imagine they’d still be kept a secret so it would be interesting to see what those two get up to!

May not be an easy transition for Tina. And wondering would Bette have turned down Helena if Tina wasn’t at home waiting.. I sure hope she would have restained..I have a feeling with their to lifes, they will be apart alot and need that trust. Which looks to be hard for Tina just from the conversation with Alice the wheels are turning. And Bette did not tell Tina that Helena wanted dinner in her room..more than a filtration, it was more of an imply. Great chapter.. im sure they will work this all out . Thank you
