    WESTERN SKIES

    Brian – Wow!

Tina looks back and sees the picture with surprise. She chuckles and pauses the slide show.

Tina – I forgot about this one …

    Brian – Stunning!

Tina – Yes … it’s an amazing horse! But, unfortunately, it won’t be in our movie.

Brian – Yeah … the horse is amazing too!

He grins. She squints her eyes and shakes her head in disapproval.

    Brian – Who is this?

Tina – One of the owners. Thankfully, a minority owner. She is not fond of the movie!

Brian – Why don’t we invite her to join the movie? The camera clearly loves her!

    She rolls her eyes.

Tina – Out of the question!

    He laughs.

    Tina – Moving on …

She gives him an annoyed look.

Tina – You will also see pictures of the inside of the house, so we can try and match the architecture of the house for the interior scenes.

    The slideshow continues.

    Three weeks later

    ————————

Western Skies Ranch, morning: A flatbed truck arrives full of lumber and construction material. It stops near the stable and two men start unloading.

    ——————————

    Four days later

    ——————————-

Western Skies Ranch, afternoon: Jim drives Bette to the house in a white pickup truck. He parks and they leave the vehicle.

Bette – Thanks again for picking me up at the Rent-a-car.

Jim – No problem, it’s close enough. I know that you have no need for a car here.

He grabs her small suitcase in the back of the truck.

Bette – It’s easier to drive from the airport and return the car right away. And I can use the ranch jeep if needed.

    She steps into the porch.

Jim – I was surprised to see you back so soon.

She looks at the cabin being built near the stable by a few carpenters.

    Bette – What is that?!

He places the suitcase on the porch.

Jim – They are making an office for the movie people. It will belong to us after filming ends.

    Bette – Huh!

Jim – It looks good, eh? It matches the house.

Bette – I don’t know … (pause) Isn’t the movie starting next week?

Jim – Yeah, I think so!  You came to watch?

    1. Hi dbff

Thanks for this very nice chapter, I see the plot is getting very interesting. I bet Tina feels uneasy and a little angry and she doesn’t know why. I think she is attracted to Bette. Waiting for your update.
