    What If- Chapter 4

“Hey, I was thinking about wearing this kick ass pant suit to the gala, “Dana says walking from the bedroom to the living room where Lara sat on the couch staring at her laptop.

“Yeah babe that looks nice, “she replies never removing her eyes from her laptop.

“Lara, you didn’t even look at me.”

“Sorry babe, I was looking over some estimates, “she says shutting closed her laptop then turning her body around facing her giving her full undivided attention.

“What do you think, “she says spinning around trying her hardest to give Lara her best Giselle Bundchen model impression. Seeing Dana excitedly model her outfit for her Lara felt a sharp pain in her stomach it wasn’t cramps nor the shellfish she ate earlier, it was guilt.

    “You look beautiful.”

“Really? I thought maybe wearing pants would be too casual.”

“No, no not at all you look good enough to slop up with a biscuit.”

“Thanks, “she says walking towards her giving her a peck on the lips, “Have you decided on what you’re going to wear?” The question immediately caught Lara off guard.

    “Uh, well no…..no not yet.”

“Lara the gala is in two days!”

“I know but don’t worry I’ll be ready…….I promise, “she says turning around re-opening her laptop. She silently hoped by turning around it would signal to Dana to end the conversation. Leaning against the nearby wall Dana stares at her.

“This restaurant is really a lot of work I didn’t know so many elements were involved.”

“The restaurant aspect is easy it’s the business part that requires all the work.”

    “Yeah, I see.”

“Hopefully it will be all over soon, “she says as the information on her computer screen demanded her attention.

“When it’s over, “she pauses before continuing to speak, “What’s going to happen to us?”

    “What do you mean babe?”

“Our relationship what’s going to happen once your restaurant is up and running will things always be this way?”

“What’s wrong with how things are now?”

“Well, for starters since you’ve been home your laptop has commanded all of your attention.” It wasn’t so much as to what Dana said as it was the tone in her voice. In the midst of typing she immediately stops turning around to face at her.

    1. Always a pleasure to read this story!

They should tell Alice that Dana is back, instead of trying to keep it a secret. Alice will feel so mad and betrayed over that.

      Thanks for the update!

    2. Great update.
Unfortunately, in one form or another Alice and Dana
can not fail to be reunited, both have the same
      unusual friends.
      All Stars.

    3. Oh my God, poor Alice, being left aside by her friends and Dana being put in second place by her girlfriend; if their feelings for their significative ones are not strong enough, they may go back to be together.
      Very nice chapter.
